Plays and Pickups

What I played this week and the various stuff I picked up on the cheap from the soon to be closed Xbox 360 store, some from Game 'n' DVD Exchange and from a new store I discovered called Just Press Play in Lancaster Pa.

Played

Half-life 2: I grabbed a physical copy of this for Xbox 360 (Orange Box) and played a few hours. Man it's a real run-for-your-life senario at the beginninig of this game. Great fun though. I remember everything I used to play of this. No real achievements left for me to get (except maybe in the two expansion chapters) but I'm just enjoying replaying the main game's story. I'll say again, why isn't there a remastered Half-Life 1-2 collection yet?

Bioshock Remastered (XSS): I played with a list of the names of the audio logs, I made sure I got every single one. I finally did all 122 of them, but I wasn't sure. The achievement unlocked a day later. My friend is playing it too on his Xbox Series X and used the telekinesis a lot to hilarious effect, and so I gave up my shock plasmid favorite and got into it too. It's quite useful as a weapon. You could almost go through the whole game with just that one ability.

Bioshock Xbox 360: Yes, I still have my hard copy of Bioshock for 360. I have some achievements to get too (remastered has a seperate set). I'm going through just like on XSS getting all the audio logs. I have a list and check them off as I find them. I feel like I know this game very thoroughly now. This must be my third of fourth playthrough this month. Not only that, I just got the PS3 version to see about trophies. Haha. Why not?

Purchased

Game 'n' DVD Exchange - Orange Box ($30 complete), Red Faction Guerilla X360 ($5) - I found out I own the digital version on Xbox 360. Who can keep track of all these digital games? - , Civilization Revolution DS in box ($5).

Just Press Play - Metroid Prime 3 Wii ($25), Bioshock PS3 ($5), Condemned 2 X360 ($12), Resistance 2 PS3 ($10), Pinball Hall of Fame Williams Collection Wii ($3) - I have The Williams Collection on X360 but without a case. I thought it would be nice to have the Gottlieb and Williams complete on Wii since I have Gottlieb already.

Xbox 360 digital store - Bionic Commando from 2009 ($1.50), Darkstalkers Resurrection ($1.50), Choplifter HD ($2.50), Devil May Cry HD Collection ($2),

XSS digital sale purchases - Lost Planet Extreme Condition Colonies Edition ($4), Atari Flashback Classics Vol. 3 ($7).

I have a list for Xbox 360 digital I'm keeping an eye on in case they go on sale:

Warhammer 40K Space Marine
Eternal Sonata ($14 right now but I like $10 or less)
Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 1-2
Space Invaders Extreme
Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena

There are a few others I still need from the years of my retro 2007-2009 but there's only one week left. After that I bail and start 2010-2012. The anticipation I feel is quite intense. I didn't expect that when I made my plan, but I'm feelin' it. I have to think about why that's happening.

See anything you like?

My most recent purchases were Trails Through Daybreak and Princess Maker 2 on Switch. I also put in a preoder on Atari 50 Expanded, which supposedly will feature a "deep dive" into Berzerk.

I saw that Atari 50 expansion. They're putting out a physical copy too. I will at least get the expansion digitally day-one for sure.

Definitely get Space Invaders Extreme.  That one's awesome.

I just got the Deluxe Set of the Nintendo World Champsionship NES Edition.  I'll be writing about it soon.

I keep asking around about the DS version of SIE but no luck yet. I'll probably get the collection I saw on Switch that includes both SIE games and Lunar Rescue, a favorite of mine.

"I found out I own the digital version on Xbox 360. Who can keep track of all these digital games?" And this is why I go through the bother of maintaining my Backloggery account Smile

I have a backloggery but haven't used it in a while. I just put IGN's Playlist app on my phone and started adding games as I play them. Instead of laborously putting everything in though, I just set a rule that my game lists have to be checked for digital versions on my systems before I start buying anything.
