Playtime included finishing Mass Effect 3 and getting hooked on replaying Gears of War 3. I touched on a bunch of others though. 

The Big Plays

Mass Effect 3 - I finished this and nearly all the side missions and every bit of DLC. The ending was. . . interesting. It really does sort of put the nail in the series, which is disappointing. I guess the devs really wanted to move on from these characters and galaxy of story-lines. I thoroughly enjoyed it though. I think I am all Mass Effected out right now and need a break, but I will surely revisit the series next year and mess around with play styles, settings, dialog choices and actually developing relationships, which I totally didn't do in either ME2 or 3. It just didn't come up. I guess you have to keep talking to characters you like to initiate an intimate relationship. I was all business trying to save the galaxy. I barely even visited my captain's quarters except to check on my fish and ship models. Haha. Haha. Haha. . . ha ha. . . sob. 

Gears of War 3 - I saw I didn't have any desired achievements left to do, so I just started playing and couldn't stop. Along the way, I noticed that I had never picked up more than a few of the cog tags or collectibles, so I started doing that, checking every corner and taking my time in levels. I'm really enjoying it again. I still don't understand why this hasn't been remastered. 

The Small Plays

Dragon Quest IX - I broke out my DSi XL and played an hour or so. I've been trying to find the time to get to the handheld games, which don't often make the tippy top of the Metacritic's lists. This was the highest rated portable game for 2010-2012 I wanted to play, but it was on page 2 or 3. It's really good so far. I forgot how good the graphics look on the DSi. It's a fantastic handheld. 

Persona 4 Golden - I played a few hours of this and got close to where I played before, but the next day I was more in the mood for the next game on my list, Halo Reach. It wasn't downloaded yet, and so I moved on to Gears of War 3 and got totally lost in that. So I may return to Persona 4 when I finish GoW3 next week (I asume I'll finish it then). I really like the Persona battle system, much more even than I used to. I seemed to be more comfortable with it this time. I remember it confusing me a bit a first all those years ago. 

Creatures of Ava - I started this for Game Pass rewards and, after a couple hours, I'm still going. It's an open world game where you attempt to save alien creatures on a world infested with a plague. You heal the infected creatures by battling them, taming them with your flute songs, and transfering them to your space ship in orbit. How this is saving them I'm not sure yet. Check it out. 

Well, that's a week. I started looking up games for my September playlist. These will be from the years 2013-2015. I made the first list already and can't wait to get to it. It's a shorter one too.
