Lego Star Wars

I only had one day to game this week and it was more mopping up in Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga.
I was trying to use the achievement list as a guide to completion of the game, but I found out you can't really stay on one planet and finish it. Some of the side quests take you off planet, and some of the collectibles require you to find a rumor or complete a side quest somewhere else before they are available. So I just started focusing on side missions, and then, where ever I ended up along the way, I would comb for hidden bricks, key codes, and character/ship unlocks. The map system works really well, and it's easy to mark a collectible and be guided there by the game. I really enjoy just exploring, talking to every npc I see and drinking in the Star Wars galaxy of planets, cities, rebel basses, and jungle planets.
I also spent a bunch of time in between planets fighting space battles. It seems that if you clear enough battles around a planet, a command ship might appear and you can attack, board, take over and purchase the ship. There's also collectibles there as well. I thought this was really cool. Additionally, I've been trying out every ship I've collected. They all seem to perform basically the same, sometimes with different gun sounds, but it's fun to take off in Darth Maul's souped up Tie-Fighter, among others.
I got a few related game things for Christmas. One was a set of Star Wars Funko Pop mini figures. These are very tiny boxed figures (5 per). It's a novelty I enjoy but I haven't really bought any Pop figs myself. I'm more keen to try the Funko Pop game that just came out just to see all the figures in action.
Another was Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 that my friend Mark gifted me over Xbox Live. He's getting a physical copy soon, so I might be switching over to that for a while in January after my retro gaming. I've played the first one, and tried to get the Xbox 360 game again, but no luck.
Finally, I'm back on backloggery.com updating my collection and removing things that don't belong. I'm there as KnightDriver as well as here.
Happy New Year. It's next Tuesday unless you follow the lunar calendar.
