Once a month, I do the rounds at the four indie game stores in my area and see what I can find. Part 1 of this happened a week ago and included two stores (Classic Game Junkies and Game 'n' DVD Exchange). Today was Part 2 and two other stores a little farther away (Just Press Play and Complete in Box). Here's what I got this week:

Alleyway (GB): A breakout style game. I'm debating putting up with my GBA SP or breaking out the GameCube's Game Boy Player again.

Arkanoid (NES): I was very happy to find this, but I still need the controller that came with it. I've been asking around and it seems it turns up from time to time so maybe oneday I'll have it.

Bookworm (DS): I loved Bookworm and Bookworm Adventures 1-2 on PopCap years ago. I was thrilled to see this complete in box and had to have it for my DS.

Breakout (PS1): I was happy to find this too after Cary told me about it. It was cheap too. I play it soon.

Galaxian (Atari 2600): I forgot this was ported to the AVCS and decided to get it. It was cheap.

Namco Museum Megamix (Wii): I used to own this way back but now I only have the Remix version. Megamix has about 6 more games and at least one more remixed version, so I had to have it again.

Retro Atari (DS): I swear I have a loose cart of this but it wasn't in my database. If I do have it it's a loose cart and so I got the complete in box version just to make sure I had it and have a better copy.

I resisted many other games I saw. I'm trying to stick to my retro theme this month of brick-breakers, Space Invaders remixes and anything I associate with the 70s. If I don't, I'll go broke. I'm pushing it as it is.

Last week was the following: Space Invaders (SNES), Arcade's Greatest Hits: Atari Collection Vol. 1 (PS1), Space Invaders (GBC), Super Breakout (GBC), Namco Museum 50th Anniversary (PS2), Atari Anthology (Xbox), and Break 'em All (DS).
