Glad you finally get to really enjoy Rocket Slime. Yeah when I was playing multiplayer one of my friend's strategies was to sneak into our tank and sabatoge it! Have you ever played Dragon Quest Builders?

I've returned to Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime and found it amazing. I don't know what I was thinking quiting it out of confusion years agoo. I think I just wasn't paying attention to the instructions. Now I'm really enjoying it.
I think the issue was leaving your tank and attacking the other tank's heart. I don't think I paid attention to the rules. I wondered why I wasn't winning when the other tank was at 0 health and just quit. Duh! I just had to leave the tank and attack the other tank's heart.
It's really fun to see your enemies try and enter your tank or for you to goo over to their tank and start wrecking stuff. I can imagine this is super fun in multiplayer, but I'll likely never get to try that.
I love hearing the Dragon Quest music in the game. Sound effects are cute too. I have the volume all the way up when I play it.
There are goo other games in this "slime" series of Dragon Quest spin offs, one for GBA and one for 3DS, neither of which have made it outside Japan unfortuneately.
I like the various DQ spinoff series: DQ Monsters, Slime and Heroes. I'll have to start acquiring more of them. I have one of the early Monsters games and the latest, Dark Prince. I've played the first Heroes game on rental. It got a bit boring to me, but maybe I'll try it again someslime. There's a sequel to that goo I can rent at my library.
