Motorcycle Madness is in the Air!

I've been experiencing a glut of biker gang related things in the last few weeks starting with my reading of Hunter S. Thompson's Hell's Angels. Immediately after I started reading that book, Smartcelt posted his Wheels of Steel blog concerning GTA IV's Lost and the Damned DLC (http://www.pixlbit.com/blog/2529/wheels_of_steel). That got me thinking about Road Rash on the Playstation and how it would be great if there was a current gen version of it. Then what do I see on upcoming releases this week, but Ride to Hell: Retribution, a game all about sixties biker gangs coming June 26th. Here's the trailer:

And if that wasn't enough, I met a biker gang member yesterday. He didn't hassel me, but he did a friend of mine a few weeks back, and I was expecting to get some of the same, but nothing happened.

This is some week of motorcycle madness!

Motorcycle Madness ... needs to be a game done by the Burnout team. Hopefully, biker guy doesn't hassle you.

Critereon totally needs to get on this. They put bikes in Burnout Paradise, but there's no battling like in Road Rash. I was watching the Mad Max trailer to see if they were including bikes, but I didn't see any. There were plenty in the movie, so I hope they end up in the game.

I think he's cool with me. Also, I don't think he's actually a gang member although it's hard to tell. Drunkeness, check, violence, check, tattoos, check, bikes, check, that comes pretty close.

I don't think I've ever had a bad run-in with bikers. Of course, most of them I've known were of the "weekend warrior" variety. They had no real desire to go to jail for much of anything. As long as you treated them well, they did the same for you. This game looks very interesting. It's a fresh genre that holds many possibilities to me. I know I'll be getting it because my family loves Sons Of Anarchy. Right up our alley on the gameplay.

I remember Road Rash was about illegal motorcycle racing, not so much about the life style of outlaw bikers like this Ride to Hell game. The trailer shows them shooting guns from their bikes but what I'm really looking for is the melee attacks. In Road Rash, that always cracked me up as riders would fly off bikes from a chian whipping. It was also a great way to add challenge to races.

Now this is a game I would play. I bought the GTA IV Lost And The Damned, played a couple of missions, and forgot about it. This game looks interesting, more of a dedicated biker gang game than the bolt on LatD in the GTA World.
