With the next two installments of the Super Smash Bros. series being officially outed just a couple of weeks ago, it’s about time that we get together and start making bold proclamations and wild guesses as to who gets an invite to the big dance and who gets left at home, sobbing into a pillow.

We already know that series veterans Mario, Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Samus, Bowser, Pitt, and Pikachu will be returning.  Additionally, the Wii Fit Trainer from Wii Fit, Villager from Animal Crossing, and (in what is likely to be the biggest addition to the series) the Blue Bomber himself have also come forth as some of the rookie class.

Of course there will likely be many more announcements in the future, but I want to share some of my picks concerning who could possibly end up on the final roster.  So here they are, in picture form!

Figure out who they all are?  Agree?  Disagree?  Share your thoughts and ideas of who else should show up in the ultimate mascot fighter coming out next year.

Game On.

Dig Dug would be awesome!

Seriously - he's a MUCH better character than Pac-Man from the Namco side.  I figure they have to include at least one Namco character.

are you talking about little mac, or referee mario?

I was thinking about this - Little Mac would be the better character, but you could do a Punch Out based stage with referee Mario in the background.

Nintendo said no more new mascots and get off my lawn you damn kids. I think these guys are  good candidates.

A Punch Out stage would be wicked awesome, especially if you factor in the ring rope psychics . Maybe if you hit someone hard enough, instead of a knock-out, they bounce off the ropes back into you for a combo KO opportunity?

And I second snee, Dig Dug would be bad ass!

Didn't the first trailer feature a boxing/ wrestling ring? Hmmm...I wonder if that confirms Little Mac too.

An Eevee that could turn into all the Eeveelutions would be a wet dream for me. Hope that one's right.

I think the the timing is right for this one too, with a new Eeveelution coming out this fall for Pokemon X/Y.

I want this guy most of all:Captain N

Yes it's a pipe dream but why not? As far as characters go, well I made a blog about that so I wont bother posting them here. I will say that my prediction for Mega Man was spot on. I'd love to see anyone from Namco, considering that they are working with Nintendo for Smash. But I guess Pac-man might be in, if they do his moveset right. I'd love to see Sonic and Snake back. Can't wait for the game, it's my most anticipated game for next year.

A Pushmo/Crashmo stage would be neat.

If Pac-Man was in the game, it would have pretty much all my favorite video game characters n it!

Well they did say that the 3DS verison was going to have more stages based on handheld titles so I could see that happening.

I honestly just don't know, but I hope they include more serious characters, Pushmo would fit in with other fat round things that seem to permiate too much of the roster in my opinion, I know it's a celebration of Nintendo and all but I like the more 'serious' characters like link so any inclusion of Fire Emblem would get a thumbs up from me. I don't like the addition of the Wii fit trainer either, all the potentially great moves in the world won't stop her from being a bland and generic character. Total dream thats going to never happen but seen as TMNT had a game similar to smash bros on the Wii, it would blow my mind to see the green dudes enter the fray!

Frankly, Roseletta, Bayonetta, and Waluigi would do it for me.

One of the Jet Force Geminis or Banjo Kazooie would be cool, but I know why it isn't happening.
