The final issue of The Last of Us: American Dreams comic came out this week. You get a little bit more of Ellie's past in the final pages, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered. I would've enjoyed a longer run for this comic to answer them, but perhaps the game will do that for me.

My one complaint with the art is that there is an adult character who looks like an older version of Riley (Ellie's companion). I mean, she looks so much like Riley, I got confused in a few of the frames. Other than that, Faith Erin Hick's art is fine and presents a striking contrast between a feeling of youthful innocence and the violent reality of this world.

I think, given the subtitle of the comic, American Dreams, I think the story could've explored Ellie's and Riley's desires for normalcy in this world gone crazy. They did it briefly in the second issue when they come across an old arcade, but I would've liked to see more of that to really emphasize how bad this world has become.

I enjoyed this comic pretty well. It just lacked some emotional punch that could've made it really great.

I hate when two characters look so similar you can't tell them apart.

One was much taller than the other but in some of the closeups they seemed almost the same. For that matter, if you look at Ellie's and Riley's face on the cover, they look remarkably similar too.
