The Game Hunt is On

Today my usual gaming buddy is MIA and so to ease my depression and loneliness, I thought I'd go on a game hunt. I'm filling out my collection of games I want to play from 2006 and 7. It's a good group to source from because the games are cheap and will probably not be in GameStop stores for much longer. I'm breaking my budget a little bit, but I'll be paying myself back over this coming week, so no worries there; although, I'm trying to remain cautious - I know how spending sprees can get out of hand.
This is my first haul. I was looking for three games in particular but I couldn't pass up three others I saw while browsing.
I was alway curious as to what was different in the Wii version of the first Far Cry, Far Cry: Vengeance. I remember it getting pretty bad reviews. But for $4, I thought it would be fun to have. I really liked the first Far Cry game.
I've played Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on a rental way back when, but I always wanted all the Uncharted games in my PS3 library and this is the first one I now own. I can't wait to go back and play it again. $8 was plenty cheap enough for an impulse buy.
Going left to right with the DS carts, Deep Labyrinth is a first person dungeon crawl I rented back in '06. I didn't finish it though. There were some doors you had to open by yelling in the DS microphone and I couldn't do that on the can at 2am while my roomate was asleep. For $2 I had to have it in my library and give it another shot.
Children of Mana is an RPG, and I love old school RPG's on the handhelds. The graphics look gorgeous too. This will be my first Mana game. It was $8. I can't wait to play it.
Orcs & Elves is another first-person dungeon crawl developed personally by John Carmack with I believe the original Doom engine. I played it all the way to the final boss on rental but failed to beat it. It's a really solid, if simiple, game that I'd like to go back and finish and for $2, I couldn't resist. Carmack did a second Orcs & Elves game, but it was for iOS only.
Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood was an impulse buy at $12, but I remember being excited by this when it came out. This was Bioware's first handheld game. Also, I thought a Sonic RPG was one way I could get into the Sonic games. I've tried so many of the Sonic games, but I found them all frustrating as heck. I mean, how do you do anything with a character that moves so darn fast? I always flew off ramps or smashed into obstacles. An RPG seems the thing for me.
And that's all for now, but the day is still young and I think I might do some more shopping.
