                           ClownShoeBeer

Finally got some gaming time with my friend over some Clown Shoe Clementine White Ale (http://www.clownshoesbeer.com/clementine) - what a name and it wasn't bad. He was playing Cabela's African Safari and I Oblivion, both of us on Xbox 360. That Cabela's game has graphics comparable to Obivion, I'm surprised to say. It was fun to turn and watch him play it and look at the environments of the African savanna. Of course I was also watching him shoot animals whose rag doll physics, once shot, were pretty hilarious. Most of the animal animation is really good in Cabelas, very realistic, but when shot, they fall flop around a little too dramatically.

OblivionAnvil

In Oblivion I was doing all the Fighter's Guild quests. I didn't finish them but I got pretty far. There are a lot of quests for each of the Guilds. I popped out of a cave at one point and had a really good view of Anvil, so I took the screen shot above. Next gen, I'll be able to do this right on the console and get better images. As it is I'm just using a pocket camera - very crude. I have the difficulty set to the lowest setting, as the achievement guide suggested, but it makes the game a little too easy. I've barely been scratched by any creature. The closest I got to dying was by jumping down from a modestly high ledge. It cut my health in half. The main thing I have to avoid is screwing up any of the quests by killing the wrong person, or moving some object that might be used for a latter mission.

             AtariHeavySixer

And this is the Heavy Sixer my friend got from a work buddy. I moved it from his car for him and it's definitely much heavier than the normal six switch. I noticed the switches seem to be of a stronger metal than other versions. There is a problem with it and it doesn't work. It's probably the power supply inside, but we'll have to open it up to see. I'm resigned right now to not having an original Atari 2600 myself since I just don't have the space, but if I get a bigger place sometime, I'm goning to have one again. Having a Heavy Sixer would be just icing on the cake.

I never gave those hunting games much thought. I always thought they were simple cash runs on a name brand. I did try their arcade titles and wasn't too impressed. I wonder if that heavy sixer can run on a motorola phone charger like the regular 2600 units can.

I never gave them a thought either, but I was trying everything I could get my hands on for achievements, hoping I'd come across a hidden gem. Cabela's African Safari is pretty good. It's just a third person shooter. It has good controls and the environments are really nice. They are small areas though. Nothing you could roam around in for too long, but you're there to hunt a specific animal and you get to it pretty quickly. It's also not a long game. The developers are all Romanian and they do most of the Cabela's games. They did a good job on African Safari.

I never heard that about the phone charger running a 2600. I think the heavy sixer is basically the same as the others, just with higher quality parts. So it should work.
