                               Swag09-21

Shiver me timbers, this barq's full o' swag to the gunwale. Let's sing a chantey me hearties and head for port for a grog. Piratin' on these seas has been good.

Activison Hits Remixed: The only thing remixed about this is that 80's music plays as you game. Other than that, the games are exact emulations of the originals. There are 41 Activision and 3 Imagic games here. I got it for Stampede but since Activision made some of the best Atari 2600 games, there's lots of good stuff here. This collection is the same as the Activision Anthology for last gen systems. For a full list of games see this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activision_Hits:_Remixed

EA Replay: Justin Matkowski here at Pixlbit mentioned the game Haunted Starring Polterguy for Genesis, and when I looked it up, I found this PSP collection. For $1 at Gamestop, how could I pass this up? The collection has 16 early 90's EA games like Mutant League Football, Road Rash I-III (with different music), and Ultima VII: The Black Gate (SNES version). All the games lack multiplayer so it's still worth finding the originals, but this is fine for on-the-go gaming. See the full list of games here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EA_Replay

    Fairwinds, ye scurvy dogs!

I get a little crazy with collections. So many games all on one disc. I can't resist it.

I still can't figure out whether the swag thing is getting on my nerves or is, in fact, incredibly clever lol.

It's just such a catchy word. However, there is a time when a favorite word has been used enough, and I think that time is now.

I'll have to go on an RPG hunt-and-find someday. There's a lot of good ones on the PSP.

I have both of those.  The Activision collection is one of the best out there.  I have both the PS2 and PSP versions.  The PS2 version is cool because it has the 2600 version of Commando!  Really!  Not sure how that got around Capcom.

There's lots of versions of Commando out there, one being in Capcom Arcade Cabinet, but that's the arcade version I believe and not the 2600 version.

Pitfall is where it's at,especially the slick snes remake! I loved that game! Smile

The PSP collection has Pitfall I and II. I see the SNES one, The Mayan Adventure, is available on Wii Virtual Console. I might have to try that one out. I never understood why Pitfall was good until I replayed it just this year. Then I got it. What was I thinking? It's pretty cool.

Well I know you have been very very busy this week what did your loot total was it like 20 or 30 games lol you will be 80 before you beat all of them lol then you can get gta5 which by then will be a classic lol!!! But as long as you have had fun looting thats what counts.

It was 14 games total. Good thing about retro, except for some of the 90's RPGs, is that most of the games are very short. Also, this was all part of my plan to revisit the games I listed in a previous set of blogs concerning my no. 1 favorite games. I want to really check out closely every version of some specific games like Stampede.

Well very impressive that you seem to know exactly what your doing after all you recommended Enchanted Arms which is an awesome game. And at tax time I will be getting me a ps3 and will be doing alot of blogging on the games I get as well.

Cool.

I'm trying to keep to this plan of playing through my favorite games before I move on to new stuff. I'm a little sidetracked on Etrian Odyssey Untold's demo right now though.

I need to find a gamestop with such cheap retro collections. So tempting...

I've got so many Gamestops around me. I think I must've went to ten different stores over those two weeks.
