Thanksgiving Week: Day Two

I watched my nephew play some Angry Birds Star Wars 2 (ABSW2) on his phone (it’s not set up as a phone. He uses it more like a DS). The levels in ABSW2 are really creative. Each Star Wars character has its own abilities. Darth Sidious was my nephew’s favorite because he shoots out lightning as he hurtles toward the target.

There’s also a pod race level where the backgrounds zoom by and you launch the characters at other pod racers. I’m second thinking my decision to not buy Angry Birds Star Wars for Xbox 360.

I had some trouble staying asleep at night and ended up playing a lot of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. What a fantastic game! I played through an area with train tracks. You drive a platform with drills on each end around a track and break rocks. You have to figure out how to switch tracks to get everywhere in the level. At the end of it there was a boss battle where Luigi was enlarged to giant size and you have a giant monster fight like in a Kaiju film by turning the 3DS sideways and using stylus swipes to attack and defend.

The surprises this game brings is amazing! Such creative levels and gameplay! I’m loving it!

I really want to play Dream Team. The new Dream Team 3DSXL really impresses me too.

Well, that sounds so much better than my day 2 of Thanksgiving week. I did get my PS4, but I had to deal with a flooded bathroom.

I just reviewed the Wii version of Angry Birds Star Wars.

The giant battles in Dream Team originated in Bowser's Inside Story. They were a lot of fun.

Right now I'm distracted by the new 3DS Zelda game. It's really great so far.

The Wii seems a natural place for Angry Birds but I gotta have my achievements if it's on 360. Not sure I like it enough to play the steep prices for it right now, but I acknowledge its inventiveness.

I missed Bowser's Inside Story but picked up a copy recently. So I'll play it some time.

That Zelda game is creeping up my list the more I hear about it. It sounds great.

Been thinking about going console with angry birds. I do have them on my tablet and I think my wife bout the original game off PSN as a mini title.

Just not sure which version to go with given how you can find the game on almost every system out there.

I would buy it on Xbox Live (for achievements and an even bigger screen) but I just can't get excited enough. The gameplay just doesn't do anything for me even though I love the level design and graphics.
