The Arisia convention is January 17-20 running 24hours a day at the Weston Boston Waterfront Hotel in Boston, Mass.. It's a science fiction and fantasy convention that includes things like a masquerade, art show, dealer's room, Renaisance dance, movies, music and, of course, video games. There's a list of the tournaments here. If I could go, I would certainly hit the 3DS Street Pass Meetups because I need people for my towns in Bravely Default.

that seems pretty cool.  I saw on Kickstarter someone was trying to start a gaming convention here in Arizona, but I didn't contribute or anything. That would be cool, but I usually avoid large movements of people.  Might be fun though.

At the beginning of the year I went a little crazy researching gaming conventions and related events and found at least one somewhere on earth for almost every week of the year. I've been favoring ones near me because maybe someday I could go to one. I'm not too comfortable in crowds, but I could definitely use them for Street Pass if nothing else. I've been carrying around my 3DS for days now all over my town and I've yet to pick up any people for my Bravely Default town gorram it all.

Yeah I get a TON of StreetPass hits when I visit places like E3, PAX, and other conventions.  At E3 one year, I StreetPassed Yuji Naka and Nintendo's Reggie!

See! That's cool. I want some of that.

Events like these happen not that frequently around where I live. I have a friend last year that went to a fairly large anime convention that I had heard about only a couple of days before so there was no time to plan or anything. Plus, I'm broke so I can't afford tickets! One thing I want to go to definetly before I graduate though, is New York Comic Con. That's huge every year and it would be awesome to go.

Yea, that one's massive. I should consider adding various comic cons to my list. Usually there's gaming stuff there as well.

Wish I could go to these things more often, too.

I starting to work on a 9 to 5 job possibility. That would make getting to these things a lot easier. I wouldn't have to take off work or I would get sick days or vacation days to do so. As it stands now, I just lose more money, and I get hassled for taking off. I'd like to do a blog from a con. That would be awesome!

Yeah, I do love having a job that ends at 5pm now. I honestly feel that I'm more efficient that way, anyway, cause I have a goal to work towards every day. Good luck!

I don't think I blogged about SGC 2013 until it was over, but I'd love to blog from a con, too. I think I tweeted during it, if that counts.

Tweeting's cool too. I discovered I can do that from my iPod Touch and so I've been doing it more. I'm not sure how anyone has time to follow lots of feeds though like they do. I use it mainly for interesting quotes and documenting Wilhelms when I hear one.

I follow lots of stuff, but mainly am just interested in headlines

That looks pretty interesting. One of these days I'm gonna muster up enough courage (and money) to go to one of these conventions.

I also want to go to the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas and FunSpot in New Hampshire.

I have to ask and I'm sorry for asking. does that mean LARPers will be there too?

Yep, there was LARPing just like at MAGFest a few weeks ago.
