Come to Texas, where if we see a bit of ice on the ground, it means we have off that day. Until those bastards show up with sand and salt or whatever. Memo to self: buy industrial strength rocks light enough to throw.

I missed a day of BaD due to Icepocalype. Yesterday night there was freezing rain that added to the already snow heavy trees and brought down branches and whole trees down all over during the day. I just managed to pick up my comics. The store hadn’t any power, but they were open for cash transactions. But on the way back, I actually witnessed a tree coming down. It came down over the road and then got trapped in the power lines. I turned down a side street and got around it but what a sight that was!
Almost every street in my area had trees down and power was out all over the place. Luckily my apartment building was spared a power outage, but it was one of the few. I had to go to work of course, because unfortunately they had power too; so, I drove all over the area and saw all the mayhem: transformers exploding, cars crushed by trees, power lines across the roads, and emergency vehicles everywhere.
Now they’re talking about an even bigger storm coming over the weekend. Seriously?! If it wasn’t that I have to drive in it for work, I wouldn’t mind so much. I’d be out there cross-country skiing. I still have my skis and shoes, so I could do it. But working in this stuff is nuts and really, really annoying.
