Yesterday I totally copped out on my entire comittment to play Donkey Kong and blog about it daily. Today I am going to do even less, but hopefully not scar minds in the process. To provide related content, I will point you the restoration showcase sub-form on KLOV. These guys do some awesome restorations of many things, including Donkey Kong cabinets. There's a pretty cool look at changing a Nintendo cabinet into a Fixit Felix Jr, for instance.

I "restored" my cabinet (well, a few minor details remain) and it is much better than when I got it, but nothing like the hardcore guys can do over at KLOV. Just browse through a few of those and see how extreme these projects can get if you're interested.

I should be back and able to play some Kong tomorrow since it's Saturday.

They have several at Disney Land near Space Mountain in an arcade.

I remember the gender reversed Donkey Kong Pauline Edition that was made recently. They did a whole cabinet.

That one is cool. There is also a "standard" cabinet design for Donkey Kong II - an unlicensed arcade sequel.

That Rampage cabinet was pretty sweet. I think it would be fun to restore a cabinet. I'd probably be too intimidated to attempt something like that though.

The good thing about it is that it is already messed up. You are only risking some money on supplies and your personal time. Not that those are worthless, but even if you fail it will be worthwhile.
