Minor Frothy Change

I made a very minor update to Frothy Bird over on itch.io. The splash screen at the start was really bugging me, so I made it a little more acceptable and ditched my weird crafty font and just used the blocky font I used elsewhere. There are still several other minor things I'd like to fix up, but this is one I could do in a single evening without any real hiccups.

Anyway, feel free to give Frothy Bird a shot if you haven't already, and go ahead and check out more of the Flappy Jam games if you're interested. I've played quite a few myself, but I'm curious if anyone else finds any that are notable. Try to break my score on my own game while you're there.

Oh, and I've failed two weekdays in a row (and a weekend) to play any Kong. I really should get back at it at least some before February ends. I know nobody is really on the edge of their seat here, but I'd like to get at least close to my personal record and not fall to shy of my original plan/commitment. Thanks for putting up with the pimping of my own silly game in the meantime, though.

Just for you, I installed Unity so I could play this. Neat game, got a little over level 10. When they start flying with black/white so close together is when I tend to lose, as I'm guessing is intended.

I would have taken a screen cap, but it went right back to that start screen. Did you write the little jingle that plays every 10 points?

And yes, more Kong please.

I was planning on trying it, then uninstalling Unity, but your little game is kind of addictive. Good job!

Haha, thanks! Glad you like it. The overlapping opposite color pellet thing needs to be worked around to make it more fun. I suppose as it is, it makes it "harder"/impossible which is sort of the point of this jam, but I'd rather it just be fun. I have a couple of ideas to get around that issue and I will update it soon, just probably not until the jam is well over. I'll let you guys know.

I also need to make it display your score back at the start screen because it is very easy to tap the spacebar an extra time and not see your score. I will fix that before anything else I have in mind.

The little ditty and all of the sounds are just free 8-bit audio clips I got from Unity. I like how lame they are, really. It plays when you go up a level (every 5 points right now, I think). It's hard to notice, but the range of speeds the pellets can have increases with each level. Eventually they get pretty damn fast.

Nice, I'm going to check your game out later on today. I've refused to touch Flappy Bird on the tablet, but since this is your game I'm going to play it!
