Drawn to Life: Next Chapter: I was looking for a collection of Writer’s Digest magazines at the library book store that I saw a few days ago. It was gone but I saw this for 50 cents. I couldn’t pass it up. I believe I played the demo for the first game on DS years ago and thought it was interesting, but didn’t buy it. I think I’ll give the series another chance with its sequel.

Sumioni: Demon Arts: I’ve wanted this ever since I saw the trailer; I guess it was about a year ago. I love the Japanese Ink art design and the action gameplay. It all comes close to what I love about Muramasa: The Demon Blade. I’ve heard mixed reviews of Sumioni, but I just have to see this art style in action. It was $10 on PSN which I accessed through my Vita. The process (I used a PSN card) was very quick and easy. Sony has really gotten their GUI act together with the Vita. I’m super thrilled about it.

Sumioni looks great, I'll have to check into that DS title you mentioned.

I was going to say this is like Scribblenauts but drawing items instead of using words and then I realized both games were done by the same dev 5th Cell.

Nick reviewed Sumioni and had some issues, but I have to try it myself.

Never played any of those games so I don't really know how to take the comparisons. lol

Yea, I can't wait to try it out. Read Nick's review of it. It's critical of the gamplay, but I think I'll like it anyway.

I thought it was worth it. Nick's review isn't that glowing but I still wanted it.

I thought about getting Dawn to Life.  I never heard of Sumioni.  I'll check it out.

Nick's review paints a picture of it being full of repetitive actions but I have to try it anyway because of the art style.

I'm a sucker for good looks in video games. Even if it's bad, I'll still keep it around hoping it will change. Sound familiar to another area of life?

I keep seeing Drawn to Life Collection at Toys R Us, and I want to try it, but I always put it down. I like how your library has games, shame though the item you went there for was gone.

Yea, all the libraries around me have the latest games now. I've been thinking about renting from there sometime.

Sadly I usually wait for the artsy games to drop in price real deep given my distain for games as art. I'm sure these games were not billed as such but that's just me and my current distain for art.

Yea, games aren't art. They're entertainment. I'm fine with that. I just appreciate a style that looks hand drawn, kinda like I dig certain comic book artists.
