Yeah you've heard me talk about Cleopatra Fortune before. Had I known I would've enjoyed it that much on Taito Legends 2, I would've bought the version on the PSOne that came out earlier. The music is pretty infectious. Whoever that name is who did the music is probably part of Zuntata, Taito's in-house band.

Chibi mummies? who'd thought mummies could be so cute.
This is a Tetris-like puzzle game where you direct blocks into certain positions to score points. In this particular variant there are stone blocks, gem blocks, and mummy blocks. The object is to surround the gems and mummies with stone blocks, creating a tomb. When you do this the contents disappear giving you points and the stone blocks drop down. When stone blocks line up all the way across the screen from left to right, they too disappear and give you points. Clear the screen and you get a “Perfect” and more points.
The game is hosted by a chibi Cleopatra sprite who also shows up in Puchi Carat as Patrako.

The music is really great. It’ll have your head bobbing and your body squirming in your chair trying to dance to it. The music was composed by Shuichiro Nakazawa according to the youtube video below. I couldn’t find hardly any information on him though.
In NA you can play Cleopatra Fortune on PS1 (not a very rare game) and on this Taito collection for PS2 and Xbox. There was a mobile version, but I don’t see it anywhere now. In Japan there are Sega Saturn and Dreamcast versions and there is sequel called Cleopatra Fortune Plus which, unfortunately, is only available in the arcade. Of course, there are ROMs I’m sure you can get for PC.
Come on Square Enix, who owns Taito now, put Cleopatra Fortune and Puchi Carat out on 3DS or Vita. It's a natural fit.
