Looks really cool. Up until you started doing these I never knew what the Taito Legends stuff was about. I thought Taitos were something you made chips out of.

Dungeon Magic is like Arabian Magic except it has a medieval setting and an isometric point of view, i.e. it’s an old school brawler. “ORC SMASH!!!” Sorry, got carried away there. . . Your task, as one of four characters, is to save the princess from the evil magician who needs her as a sacrifice. I’m reminded of the plot to the film Your Highness, one of my favorite movies.
How cool would it be for there to be a game like Dungeon Magic but with the Your Highness lisence. You could use the storybook art style they used in the opening sequence to the movie.

Yea, that would be awesome! Get on it Wayforward or Telltale games. Yeah, right.
You have four characters to choose from: Ash the knight, Gren the martial artist, Cisty the elven archer, and Vold the magician. There are lots of pickups such as: treasure that gives you XP, food and drink that give you health, mice that increase your chance at a critical hit, and spheres that enable the use of your special attack. There are also lots of weapons and shields you can find that do some pretty cool elemental damage and protection.
The special attacks are really dramatic and I switched characters often to try them all. Vold's special is especially explosive as he brings down giant fireballs from the sky to crush all around him. I wanted to use it constantly.
You can get some pointers from watching this.
You can play up to four players at once and there are multiple paths to the final boss making replays more interesting. The visuals of the game are very colorful with very detailed sprites. It’s a joy to look at.
“Somehow I feel like I’m being watched by three big eyes. Weird huh?”
There are a few annoying things like having to jump onto a moving platform, avoiding spikes in the floor and at least one puzzle (I only found one so far). They’re not too annoying though because there’s not much of that. Mostly you’re just brawling it up. “TROLL SMASH!!!” Sorry, got carried away again.
I really liked the orchestral score for the game - rousing adventure stuff worthy of a film like Conan: The Barbarian.
As far as I can tell this Taito Legends 2 collection is the only place you can play this other than the arcade. To get a similar experience you could play Capcom’s D&D 2D brawlers Tower of Doom and Shadows Over Mystara in the Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara collection out now on all your favorite places to download.
“OGRE BATTLE!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!”
