Divinity: Original Sin came out this month. It's one of the best RPGs in years, and possibly the best thing that has come out of Kickstarter thus far.
What About July?

So what about July. We're a week into it already. I had thought there was nothing special this month to interest me, but after looking over the release schedule on allgame.com and Metacritic, I found several games I'm excited about. It goes to show, that sometimes games just appear out of the ether last minute like this.
Looks like there will be historic scenarios in this one. Cool!
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution 2 for Android or iOS is already out. I loved the first game on Xbox 360. I'd consider upgrading my iPod Touch to a 5th generation model to play this, but I'm not sure I want to spend $200. I would love to do it but my 2nd gen iPod Touch still works fine. It could be Civ Rev 2 might eventually come out for consoles, but I'm not holding my breath. Plants Vs. Zombies 2 never got ported to consoles. We got Garden Warfare instead. Bah!
Might & Magic: Duel of Champions - Forgotten Wars, out on iPad, PC and XBLA on the 9th (the XBLA version is listed on Metacritic so I hope that's right), seems like Ubisoft's attempt to steal some attention away from Magic Duels of the Planewalkers 2015 out the following week by being almost exactly like Magic The Gathering.
Deck building seems to be the big new feature in this version.
Magic Duels of the Planewalkers 2015 is out on everything on the 16th. Dan & Kat Talk, Dan Amrich's new podcast, this week interviewed Hugh Sturbakov and he talked about the fantasy card game Magic. Hugh said the console version is great for beginners, helping them learn the game. I'm not wholly a beginner, but I've only played it a dozen times or so. I've always wanted to get into it more.
I've been talking to a friend at work a lot about Magic The Gathering and so maybe July will be fantasy card game month for me.
