I'm on my third Xbox. The other two broke along the way. I doubt I'll buy another. My PS3 has lasted a bit longer, but I was having problems with the CD drive the other day, so... hmmmm.
My PS360 Weekend

First thing I did this weekend was try and fix my friend's Xbox 360 by getting a laser cleaner. The box still wouldn't read it, so it's hopeless. The thing needs to be replaced.
Monop in 3D. Weird.
Instead of doing that and getting a hundred bucks or more in the hole, we went through like every board game on Xbox Live: Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Catan, Monopoly Streets, and Risk Factions. We also played Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Civilization Revolution.
You can get up to four players in on the hack 'n slash action in Silent Hill: Book of Memories
As a break from all that, I played multiplayer in Silent Hill: Book of Memories [Vita] with daftman on Sunday and played some more Demon's Souls [PS3] for the Pixlbit Club on Monday (yes, I have my PS3 and Xbox 360 online at the same time).
Apparently my friends do a lot of car chases in GTA V. I heard all about it.
I also spent time in the wee hours with some work friend's who told me of their adventures in GTA V. It seems there are other guys out there who hang out all day and play games like my friend Mark and I do. Go figure.
Oh, there it is.
An issue that cropped up had to do with what happens when you erase game data from your Xbox 360. On the surface it seems like it erases all memory of your purchase on Xbox Live for Arcade and Games On Demand titles. When you look in Marketplace for the game again, it asks if you want to buy it as if you never had. Not being one hundred percent sure I owned Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on my current ID, I purchased it again for $5 on this week's Xbox Live Capcom sale. Then I noticed I had an achievement in the game from 2009, which means I owned it on my present account (I switched ID's sometime in 2007). Why did it not tell me to just download it again?
Later on I went to play Monopoly Streets again and a similar issue happened. I had deleted the game data a while back to save space but the game wasn't even available to download from marketplace anymore. After a WTF moment and some searching for prices of the meat space copy on Gamestop's website (it's like $35 used!), I got to thinking about that little thing I heard once on Major Nelson's podcast - the Download History.
It took me a few moments to find it hidden under Account Settings and after some long scrolling through game titles, with no ability to sort it in any way, I found Monopoly Streets and was able to download it again. Then I realized I had paid twice for Super Puzzle Fighter and had another WTF moment.
I think of the average Xbox 360 user who never listens to Major Nelson's podcast and the feature they do called Xbox 101 with "E" and wonder what kind of angry phone calls they make to Microsoft to find the game they bought but is now, as far as they know, unavailable. I cry a little cry over that.
So just remember to look under Dowload History for your lost games on Xbox 360 and don't get suckered into paying twice for them like I did.
PEACE!
