I was a true patriot of Diablo III by playing all afternoon on Sunday. Then, I had to work during the first three quarters of Super Bowl, racing back to my friend's place to see the fourth and get right back to D3. You could call me a Diablatriot.

I finally got my equipment dyed in a coordinated way. I'm a total fashion monster.

Mark and I got back to my hosted game and played through Act II of Hell mode on hard difficulty. He at level 60 plus 4 paragon was plowing through everything while I tried to keep from being surrounded and killed. I actually escaped through a portal a few times to avoid being killed. At level 51, I was underpowered. The game scales to the highest level player, but gives better experience and loot to those lower level players. It works just like Borderlands in that way. I'm underpowered, but I'm power leveling. So I'm ok with it for now. I gained almost five levels and now I'm almost to level 56.

We're going to tear through Hell mode and then Inferno this way, trying to pick up new dialog in Act IV and any other challenge that can be had along the way. I'm going for a complete achievement score in this game. There's no stopping now for a true Diablatriot.

i dig that you guys can play co-op together.  I miss playing games with my brother.  I think I envy that more than those damn cheese steaks.

If it wasn't for co-op play. . . I don't know. I may give up my consoles and be a handheld gamer only.

Funny, the party I was at was all rooting for Seahawks, and ONE guy stood up and starting yelling at the end as the only Pats fan. He knows a back-up defensive player on the team, I believe.

I got no gaming in yesterday, but I did drink and eat a lot. So there was that.

I've met lots of Pats fans here on the East Coast. The game was like East vs. West. But my friend Mark was rooting for the Hawks. He thinks the Pats cheat too much. Maybe they just get caught too much.

Hi, I'm here for the bidet discussion...? It's in the title, though your spelling could really use some work, but I don't see anything...

Ah, yes. Well, that's the secret topic that wise people like yourself notice when they say BaDay out loud. The bidet is, I contend, the greatest invention of our times. So my question is, "you gonna heat that water?" Yes or no? Please elaborate.

Heated water?? How many luxuries does one person need? Tongue Out

I've probably said this before, but respect to you and your friend for getting the most out of your games. After playing through once and maybe twice I am done with a game unless I really like it.

Everything is better in co-op. It adds so much more life to a game. Just look at Destiny. The multiplayer aspects of it keep people playing for months. I usually hit a fatigue in a game around the 100 hour mark, though. I just need to see a different world by then, but we'll see.

Isn't there an achievement for beating it on hardcore mode? That seems like it would be a pain in the arse. Then again, I guess it's not too much of an obstacle for a true Diablatriot. Cool

True Diablatriots play Hardcore Mode. Mark's not so keen to play it, but I love the idea. You only got one life and have to get to level 30 for the achievement. I think it's fun to have that kind of tension. It makes it more like an arcade game and you're on your last quarter.

I'm currently playing this with Bilby. I picked it up because you kept going on and on about it.

I have some major complaints about the console version, that I really didn't notice until I tried the Master difficulties. Firstly, the roll sucks. Enemies still hit you even if you've rolled a mile way from them.

Secondly, having A be your main attack and the interact button is so stupid. I died a lot because of that. I need to kill this thing but no, you need to open a chest instead, or talk to some random, or leave the area AND LOSE ALL THE LOOT! That was infuriating.

Also, there's less loot. A lot less. The dead bodies barely give you anything, unlike on PC where it gives you something almost everytime. When I tried my monk on Master I, I died so many times because I was LEVEL 7 and no loot had dropped. Nothing. The only things I got were from completing quests. Seriously, not a single item dropped at all.

And some issues with co-op. Firstly, split screen co-op is done poorly. You should both be able to look at your inventory at the same time, like you can online. It's really frustrating, especially when the solution is alread on pc - just use half the screen. Same with shops. It's really annoying in a game where you're stopping every 2 minutes to check your numbers to have to wait 5 minutes for the other person to finish.

I'm not even attempting Hardcore. I got to level 10 and died because my character kept targeting the wrong enemy. Or would just kick air beside them when an enemy is in front of them for no reason. Again on PC this didn't matter since you just clicked the enemy.

Grr. Sorry for the rant, the game just frustrates me.

I think I've heard of some of those complaints from the console version, but I thought they had been fixed in the Ultimate Evil Edition of the game. I am playing the first console version and I haven't had a problem with loot. As I run around with a higher level character, I get tons of loot. The "A" button thing is a problem. I'm not too button mashy with it but my friend Mark is and I have to keep reminding him to stop when we're near the end of a level and there are people to talk to before you go through a portal. Also, loot, and it seems menus, are handled differently in split/screen co-op I've heard. I'm playing online so I haven't experienced the problems you mentioned. Online there's no waiting for the other player. He/she could do a whole level while you sat in town talking to your blacksmith. Then if you wanted to join him/her, you just click his/her banner and go right to him/her. It's neat. Sorry to hear your troubles with it though.

Shh...don't tell Jason, but I missed most of the first quarter because I was so absorbed in my game...

I missed the first three quarters because I was at work. I can't believe I actually got to watch the whole fourth quarter. What an ending! But seconds later, it was back to Diablo 3.

Wouldn't mind trying out Diablo at least once. Looks fun enough.

It's awesome. Last gen, or two gens ago now I guess, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was the game I played that was like this.
