ha ha, "Diablieve it!"
Maybe next year when my bro comes for xmas we'll play this. That would be really fun.

Diablo 3 today. Again. Can you believe it?
Notice all the Lovely Dye (pink). There's a challenge for wearing that.
Mark and I finished all dialogs and Nightmare Mode on Hard. I was still just under level 60, which you need to be to start Inferno Mode, so we went after some boss related challenges. They are a little tricky but you only have to do the challenges related to the four major bosses of the game. That is, for achievements. There are many other challenges not related to achievements in this game.
Each major boss ends a chapter in the four part story. Most of the challenges relate to avoid taking damage from a boss's special attacks or killing them in certain ways, sometimes both. Some of them require being in Inferno Mode, so I couldn't do those, but I got all but one that I could get. The illusive one was killing Diablo without using a health potion or well. You would think that's easy. Just set the game to Easy difficulty and hack away, but as you knock health off Diablo, he drops health potions, and it's hard to avoid picking them up. Your reach is pretty far. So we had to attack him with ranged weapons, but, of course, he teleports to your position a lot, and it's hard to not keep attacking him up close. So I didn't get that one after several tries, but I'm sure I'll get it eventually.
I'm really glad Blizzard put in a lot of subdivisions in the Acts that you can warp to. You can pretty much restart the game very close, or right at, the boss for each act. It makes replaying them really easy.
So next week I'll pick up the last little bit of XP I need for level 60, and then Mark and I will run through Inferno Mode. It could be, by then, that the only achievements left will be: getting level 30 on Harcore Mode, and 5 million in gold. Hardcore won't be too difficult, I think. You play the game with a new character having only one life, but you can play on Easy difficulty which is pretty easy. The 5 million gold may be tricker. I'm going to probably have to devise a way to farm the stuff. I may need a million or two more by the end of next week.
Happy algorithms!
These constant Diablo blogs are.... diabolical. Just kidding man. Good luck on your hardcore run. Did you ever think about going back and playing the original Diablo games? I played Diablo 2 on and off for years. At one point my brother and me even had a bootleg version that was in Italian lol.
I just listened to an interview with the guy who was lead programmer on Diablo 1 on IGN's Podcast Unlocked. It got me thinking they should rerelease D1 and D2 for consoles. I know they won't though. I did play D2 way back when my friend and I were trying to learn networking on PCs. That was a chore.
I'm fine with a mouse, I just don't want to deal with PC compatiblity issues, or driver issues, or all the other issues you have to deal with. There's definitely a PS1 Diablo. I don't know if it's good or not. I'd like to try it. I remember there was a PS1 Warcraft II I tried once when I was playing it on PC. Yuk. PC is the way to go with that stuff. I mean, they do RTS better now on console, but back then it was a pain.
So one time I was playing Ultimate Evil and I killed a treasure goblin and it opened a portal to a level filled with treasure chests. Apparently this randomly happens in this version of the game. Later, I got a special gem in a greater rift that gives me a 25% chance of enemies exploding into gold upon death. Needless to say I have quite a bit of money right now.
Oh cool! I can't wait to play UEE. I have a Puzzle Ring item which, when I get hit, sometimes spawns a Treasure Goblin (I call it a Gnome because I like that better. Lawn Gnome, Treasure Gnome. Just has a ring to it). It happens quite a lot really, and I always yell out to my co-op friend when it appears so we can kill it, "Forget that boss, GET THE GNOME!!!"
