So sometime last Fall I discovered Mii Plaza and Street Pass on my 3DS XL. I've gotten more and more obsessed with it. Now I carry my 3DS XL around with me all the time. I greet Miis every night, and then run them through the various Mii Plaza games. I would usually get three or four Miis a day and use my coins gathered from steps taken to fill out the crew to the max of ten. Last week though, I decided to save up all the Miis until I hit 10, and then play the games. Last week I got nine after a whole week. I'm hoping for ten this week, but we'll see.

The six games you can play are all really cool. Let me talk about them for a bit.

Puzzle Swap just lets you get puzzle pieces from Street Pass Mii's to complete 3D pictures of Nintendo characters. It's simple but cool. You can manipulate the completed 3D pics a little bit to see different angles.

Find Mii is a simple RPG. If you play it twice it unlocks Find Mii II which has more variety of monsters and combo attacks. I finally beat a monster surrounded by poison last week. He sent my Mii's packing many times until I discovered that the yellow Mii's sandstorm spell neutralizes poison. That wasn't enough though. You need two yellow Mii's sandstorm spells used in combo attack to neutralize this monster's poison. Then you can battle the monster itself.

Mii Force is a bullet hell shooter. Sometimes it's horizontal and sometimes vertical. It's a really colorful game full of tricky boss battles. Your Street Pass Miis become your weapons on your ship. Then you can rotate them around on the fly to shoot in different directions. Each Mii's favorite color becomes a different weapon. I really liked the green Mii's weapon. It's like a stream of green energy that reaches out and destroys things by itself. It's great having it right behind your ship to cover your back, and it's great when you need to shoot into narrow places. It wiggles around seeking out targets. Really cool! I beat the whole game a few weeks ago, unlocking arcade mode where you fight from the beginning and see how far you can get through the whole game. There's no more story now, but you can still unlock prize tickets that you can use to buy new hats and suits for your Mii.

Flower Town may be my favorite Mii Plaza game. You are tasked with growing plants from seeds. Your Street Pass Miis arrive and water your plant. I guess cross-pollination happens once the plant blooms and then you get new seeds. Your object is to create 20 different breeds. I'm up to 15 or so. I like the gentle music, sounds of nature and creating a garden display area that other people can visit via Street Pass.

Warrior's Way is a simple strategy war game. Steet Pass Miis give you soldiers that help you build your army so you can attack a continent full of foes via a turn-based rock/paper/scissors type battle system. If the Miis you meet have more armies than you, you get nothing. I usually get Miis with very large armies (I saw one once that had 9,999,999 - must be the max) or very small armies (I got 1 once) that don't add much to your force. So it's been slow going in this game. I'm not even half-way done the first continent.

Monster Manor is a kind of puzzle/action game. You get puzzle pieces from Miis that you place to reveal parts of the manor, which you then walk through. If there is a ghost there, you have to fight it in real time with weapons you get from chests that are revealed if you uncover a large room size space on a floor of the manor. If you come across your glowing orb (also revealed by using puzzle pieces to create large rooms) it lets you manage your equipment and create gems and upgrade your weapon. I really like this game.

Some of these games give you bonuses if you have a Mii that you've met more than once. I have one that I've met 15 times now. In Find Mii she is a max level 7 fighter; in Flower Town she improves the seeds created by her interaction with your plant; and in Monster Manor she has many puzzle pieces and has given me my current bad-ass weapon.

I'm having a lot of fun with 3DS and Mii Plaza. I didn't know how engrossing Street Pass was going to be for me, but I love it.

The 3DS tells you exactly when you make a Street Pass, so I try and guess who was around when I got it. I've figured on one person for sure, but the rest are still a mystery to me even though I get the same Mii at the same time most days. Who's the secret Nintendo fan, I think.

The Mii Plaza stuff is great.  You'd think Flower Town would be lame, but it's actually the deepest of all the Mii games!

I don't understand what makes for a new breed. I mean, I get the percentage points and everything but the guy says that seeds with three possibilities are better. But if I get a glowing one, it has one possibility with a high percentage of being a new breed. And what about using the seed shapes to tell what will grow. I don't get that at all. I picked up a job at the store in the mall, but I don't know how to select for a specific breed. Maybe I'll figure it out eventually.

All I ever see people do when I go to SGC is Street Pass. Screwattack draws a crowd of Nintendo fans.

Thing is. Your limit is ten at a time. If went to a con, I'd have to stop every five minutes and run my ten Miis through the games so I could pick up another ten. Not a bad thing to do though. Makes me really want to hit the cons in my area this year.

Again nothing but respect for your dedication on collecting Mii's. I love the puzzle game, Find Mii (I need more Mii's so I can finish it already), and Mii Force (same as Find Mii). I didn't pick up the other Mii games you talked about but it sounds like I'm missing out on some fun. Good stuff man!

I just got the bundle of all four games for $15. I love them all.

I kind of regret not buying that bundle but oh well, it is a couple of games I don't have to worry about finishing.

I should try to bring my 3DS more so I can also start collecting more Miis. From what Julian has said, airports are a heaven for Streetpass.

Now I'm going to have to think up a reason for me to go to the airport. Maybe I should start taking weekend trips around the country for no other reason than Mii gathering. Might be a fun thing to do actually. I know. . . Vegas! They always have cheap rides to Vegas. I'll go to the Pinball Hall of Fame though and not the casinos. Suck it casinos!

I have a bunch of Miis in my Mii Plaza and I streetpass my son a lot. :) Other than that I don't really go in there.

It's the 3DS's own arcade for Miis.

The Mii plaza is great...and certainly interesting.

I wonder if they will add any new games. They've been adding new pictures to Puzzle Swap pretty steadily.

I just took my 3DS to a convention I went to over the weekend just to get more Miis to try out this stuff. I've always found it factinating but never had enough Miis to do any of it. With the Mii's I collected, I got to the second stage of Mii Quest but that's about it.

I think the games appeal to me right now because I have so little time at night to play anything, and it only takes me about a half hour to run all the Miis through the six games.

Does this stuff work with the 2DS, as well?

I would assume so.
