I have been unbelievably lax in keeping up with the site and my blog the past months. I'm hoping to correct that and try to post some reviews or small blogs every other day for a week or two. Yes, I said "reviews." While I haven't been posting, I have been playing and I have some games I'd like to give my opinion on. All of them are of my "Way Too Late" variety, though. So keep an eye out, Rejo's back with a vengeance!

By now, I'm sure everyone has read the various reactions and reviews to this Playstation Exclusive. For the most part, you're going to read the same things here, but I wanted to put into print my biggest gripe with the game. That will come at the end of this piece, so skip ahead if you want.

   Spec Ops: The Line is a game I don't recall getting much attention when released. I came across a few reviews online that noted how it attempted to tell a grander story than found in most other military shooters, but I didn't pay them much attention, as that genre is well-mired in basic stories about terrorists and the American military that must stop them.
   But when PSPlus had it for free download back in March, I decided to give it a try--because free doesn't hurt, right?
   Wrong. It hurt, but not in the way that would be expected.

Having been too tired from work, I haven't kept up with what should have been regular blogging here. I'm going to try my best to correct that as time goes by.

So, like any 30something gamer, I grew up on platforming games. I have fond memories of jumping on things and collecting whatever I was told to. But as the consoles developed and expanded in their abilities, I dipped my toes into new genres of gaming and have become distracted. I've played platforming games over the past few years (Jak and Daxter, I love you!), but I don't have a solid grounding in them now.

*Note: this is something I meant to post when I played Journey back around Christmas time. For whatever reason, I never got around to it.

So I joined up to pixlbit a little after the announcement of 1up's end. I feel a little guilty of that, like I had scrambled to find another safe harbor for myself, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of 1up and have the same vibe here. So here I am, introducing myself to a new community.
