I skipped out on the Toaplan collections.  I'd like to get them, but money is tighter so I have to be more selective on my gaming purchases now.

The NES version of 1942 is awful.  The NES version of 1943 is much better.  Because of how good it and the arcade version is, 1943 is still one of my top favorite shooters ever.

I skipped out on reviewing the Puzzle Quest game, too.  Just looked like more of the same.  But it's still probably good.

Great thing about gaming in the 90s.  In the early to mid 90s, we had the SNES, with all the simple fun of NES style games with the comforts of more quality of life features the next gen provided.  And then in the mid to late 90s, we had the PlayStation, when games started to not be considered just 'kid's stuff.'  Also the PSOne had a lot of experimental titles, being one of the first CD-ROM systems and all.  And with that and the fact that I was in college and just starting writing game reviews in 1996, the possibilities felt endless!  Wow, next year in 2026, I will have been writing game reviews in some capacity for 30 years!

Aside from the PSOne Namco Museums, I consider the Activision Anthology one of the best collections out there, in terms of presentation and quality and quantity of games.

For my birthday I got a Kirby Switch controller.  I wonder if it'll work on my Switch 2?

I wish my dad would remember how he got them.  But that was over 40 years ago so I doubt he would remember.  Oh well.  I don't even think I knew what a demo game was anyway.  All I knew I was getting games to play.

Yeah but the games on these disks were not demos, they were the full games.  So I don't really know if they were pirated or not.  It wasn't something I thought about back then as a little kid.  And I bet my dad didn't think of it either.  I remember the shareware scene on later computers, though.  That's how I was introduced to games like Jazz Jackrabbit, Christmas Lemmings, Tyrian, and more!

The latest batch of amiibo prices are ridiculous.  I'm going to have to really be selective on my Nintendo purchases in the future.  I'm already NOT getting the DLC for DK Bananza and I'm on the fence on the Mario Galaxy collection.

I think LIttle Nemo: The Dream Master came out in 1990.  That was an awesome NES game!

I used to say that the 90s sucked and the 80s was way better, but lately I'm starting to thnk the 90s weren't so bad.  There were awesome consoles like the SNES and PSOne and great cartoons like Animaniacs.

I was only able to read the instructions for it because the Activision Anthology collection has scanned manuals for all the games.

Nintendo annouced so many more amiibo in today's Direct video.  My wallet is crying.
