Yeah, the book was damn fun! The final chapter was more of an update on economic conditions in 2007, when the fecal matter really began hitting the fan. There was also some coverage of the Wal-Mart lawsuits over worker's rights.

Yeah! I was super excited when I saw it on the PS Store. I checked online to see if it was compatible and I'm pretty sure I made a little girl's squeal when it was confirmed. Not ashamed of it though.
I haven't finished Jeanne D'Arc, but I have to agree. You have to play it. Like now.
Ah, well then nevermind to Lost Planet.
Done!
I was thinking of running as the Amazon on my next playthrough, though I'd like to try out the Witch or Wizard too.
His most famous series is The Dying Earth, which also make a horrible introduction to his stuff. The language is so flowery and over the top that it took me years to get through and decide to read his other stuff. But when I did...wow.
Foundation is a terrific book! I was horrified when I learned that Roland Emmerich of Independence Day and White House Down wanted to make it into a movie. It would not turn out right. At all.
The other books in the series are great too, even when he began tying together his Robot series with Foundation. It was an interesting exercise in retrofitting his stories.
I loved Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond, and was surprised that the tv special was available on Netflix at around the same time I read the book. I've been meaning to read more of his stuff.
How's Lost Planet? It's looked kinda interesting to me, but I'm scared to try it out and end up hating it.
It's cool to see so many people with some interest or background in the tabletop D&D. I still try to play pen and paper rpgs when I can, but real life tends to get in the way of my friend and I getting together to make that possible.
Seeing how there are so many people still interested, maybe we should all group up and play online somehow.
I've been waiting to read that! Maybe I'll pick it up soon.
