This is ridiculous news. I guess it's to be expected, but jeez, it's a bit premature to start talking about it.

You'll have to let me know what you think, Mike. I thought it was about on equal ground with Uncharted 2, all things considered.
Wow, that looks pretty stunning. Count me in.
Please, let us know what you thought of the audio portion of this review. We'd love to do it again and make it even better for next time!
I can't ever make heads or tails on Silicon Knights. I also enjoyed Too Human in spite of its shortcomings, and like most others, Eternal Darkness is a longtime favorite. The MGS 1 port on GameCube was great too.
However, the company seems horribly mismanaged and without the help of some more skilled people from other companies, they're incapable of delivering. I've basically given up on them at this point.
I can only hope that those who were laid off are able to find gainful employment somewhere else, lending their expertise to projects that deserve it.
Yeah, I can absolutely see Crushing being more difficult here. When it comes down to it, the second game had fewer fire fights and better mechanics. The combination of the two should produce an easier experience.
Just for some added clarity, I had never played this game before playing it here for review. Back when U2 came out, we received a review copy and it marked my introduction to the series. With 3 coming out, I decided it made sense to go back and play 1.
Just to make it easier, I went ahead and ended each segment with the author's name :)
I hate to say it, but that's definitely not the case. At face value, it does seem that way, but snaking forces you to plan your path doubly so. You need to have a full understanding of how moving in such a manner will affect your course, and you have to hit everything with perfect accuracy.
After competing in a national tournament, I can promise you that all snakers aren't created equal. I managed to place second, but the guy who beat me, whooped me. We were both snaking, he had just figured out the best ways to utilize the paths and the terrain, while maximizing boosts to win by a large margin.
Sorry for the rant, snaking just gets way too much undue hate.
No snaking is a huge problem for me. MKDS truly succeeded thanks to the snaking techniques you were forced to employ to properly compete. It wasn't for everyone, but it added an entirely new facet to the game once you had already mastered it with basic techniques.
I really wish Nintendo would've gone for a tiered approach where snaking could be disallowed in online matches by default, but enabled if you so pleased when setting up a match. Probably wouldn't be super easy to do, but it would go a long way to accommodating all players.
I'm going to start calling this Grand Theft Auto Vee just to piss Rockstar off... But seriously, I'll be interested to see where they go with this one. To be honest, I really didn't like IV.
