I recently picked up a book by that author. It's called Dreadnought. I am very into steampunk stories and artwork. But only started a few months ago. Went to a gaming convention and saw girls dressed up in elaborate steampunk outfits. Did a little talking and investigating and learned of those books. I know how you feel on the dry spell. I've been there before. Right now it's the opposite for me. Too many good games I am trying to finish. I try to alternate between COD:BO2 carnage and moving through some campaigns. Not a bad problem to have at the moment. That is very cool that you do volunteer work with kids. They need to learn about the world around them. And I am looking forward to seeing your costume, too!

The way I heard the name it's pronounced like you'd say Gautier or to be specific "go-tee-yay". I had forgotten the Cool Boarders games. Had a couple of those titles for my PS1 way back when. They were pretty decent games.

Nightwish tends to do it with each album. They will release a classical version of the songs done with an orchestra. They did it with Dark Passion Play I believe.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think female vocalists can add something special to metal songs. Passion and emotional depth are the two factors I refer to. Sharon has them both in abundance!

Oh,absolutely! Lacuna Coil is incredible. They played here in Tulsa once and blew people away. Nightwish is probably my favorite band from this genre.

That's what you get SimCity!

Well said and right on target. EA has pulled one epic blunder. Perhaps their dismal failure will save console gamers from suffering the same BS when the new systems are released.

Why do video games have to be relevant to real life? A rebuttal

Two things I thought of today pondering this blog. First one is the fact that the same men who might condemn gamers for doing it are often hypocrites. They will spend hours on end watching football, basketball, and golf[ a lot of that!] on TV. Who is wasting time there?  Second thing I thought of is drones. I did a blog about them recently. The guys who fly those things are often skilled gamers. So in a twisted way they are using skills they picked up playing games. Granted it's a pretty messed up way to apply them. But future uses of this technology might be for good reasons.

Tony Hawk PS 3 was my favorite one. Did you know you can create a character that looks just like Lara Croft? I have the dimensions you use to do it somewhere in my box of game data. It was funny doing stunts as Lara!

I really like that song by Gotye. Just learned how to pronounce that yesterday! Cool video, too. Sarah Silverman is pretty funny. I like the silly songs she plays. She did some on Adam Carolla's podcast once and it was hysterical. She's an attractive woman as well. And Green Day is fantastic. They've had some ups and downs. But make consistently quality music.
