I haven’t seen an offical cause but a report said a massive heart attack. Once things have settled I’m sure the family will release a statement.
As for the addiction thing, I’ve seen people trade one for another. It just that type of personalility. All I’ve known him to do was drink.

Other than my wife and on here I really have no friends to geek out with over video games. But let their kid want a certain game and I’m the first one they come to on advice about content. I’m like, really? You can’t research with Google? lol. I work with a lady and her kids are only allowed two games... TB Xbox one s has only 2% storage usage.
