I didn't think Athena was THAT bad.
I didn't think Athena was THAT bad.
Glad to hear it. I usually like to write about the flaws in games. Most reviews spend two sentences on the bad stuff, then give you a million reasons why you should buy the game.
Just because a game is really messed up in some respects, it doesn't mean it isn't great.
Thanks! You know a lot of these games, despite the flaws. This one can make you angry, but the battles are just so sweeping that so long as there exists an easy-access save system, it's worth a try.
A really accessible strategy RPG? Valkyria Chronicles and Advance Wars are two good ones that are lighter on the RPG elements. They are both pretty awesome.
Haha. Thanks for the kind words. I wrote this a long time ago for a completely different purpose. As I'm gettng a new computer, I figured one way to transfer a lot of what I've written in the past is to post it and then just copy and paste later.
I wonder if anyone else will have the patience to make it through. :)
There's another game in this "series" for PC Engine, and though I've never played it, looks like it sucks as well.
It's easy enough to repost, so no worries. But if you decide to play it one day..... remember, you've been warned!
Poor Lampshade, nobody respects him. Well not at first anyway.
Sometimes really average games are worse than bad games, because you are left feeling absolutely nothing.
No worries. You've always contributed so much to these blogs, I'm happy to just have you reading. No joke!
We shall see soon enough. Bionic Commando for NES is amazing, though.
