What is SEGA Spectrum? Not getting my hopes up...

Posted on 05/29/2013 at 09:46 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I would definitely say downloading service or something like it is more likely, I don't think a company planning a new console launch would sign a three-title exclusivity deal with a former rival regarding its mascot franchise if it were thinking of entering the console market again so soon. Or maybe that was a test? One can dream, I suppose.

I was surprised by how much I liked "Up in the Air," given how boring I usually find 30 Seconds to Mars. I mean they were huge at my high school, even heard girls comparing Leto to Jesus, and I'm not sure they were doing that ironically ... yet, I never saw the big deal, but loved this song. Video is sleek too, really matches the quality. I didn't find it disturbing, maybe a bit random, but well shot.

Rammstein I just thought was a bit weird, but compared to what I've heard my older brother describe their live sets as, that was nothing. At least the girl was attractive, which is a them I appreciate being carried through both these videos.

what im listening to today

I'm a big fan of all of these. Thought I hadn't heard that particular Celtic Woman song until the chorus came in, but I love that one too.

Disturbed's song has a great drum intro, simple too I hear (I dabbled in drums in middle school a bit actually, but played mostly exercises; my friend learned "Sickness" though, said it was easy), so I see why you as a drummer would like it.

When I was a DJ for KSAU my friend and I would put that Coldplay song in rotation all the time. I called him once to request it, and he already had it coming up! lol

"Lightning Crashes" is just such a great song, and growing up in the 90s, it was inescapable. Still gets heavy rotation on alternative radio now. Might just have to learn it on guitar today, perfect weather for it what with the thunderstorming and rain.

Sounds like a soundtrack I would like the sounds of. Mmmmm midieval minstrel power metal. How sweet the sound.

Voice acting is fine when it's done right, honestly sometimes I would prefer I could take the text off cause having it takes me out of the story, but then sometimes I want only text, particularly if I'm having to make decisions, so I can take my time reading it without an annoying character voice doing that for me.

I actually really liked what you wrote. Obviously, since this is a part of your story in media res, I don't have full context of what people look like or exactly what a crumbling Kingdom Tower would be like, but I'm intrigued by these experimental enhancements and what exactly makes the Kingdom so sinister.

Honestly, the deaths went by pretty quickly, and I saw this more as a character study of Sophie, with her past and relationship to Ray, her parents, and the Kingdom, so if that's what you were going for, you succeeded.

I will say there was more context to Sophie's murdering, and Ray's came off a bit random. Both are obviously blind acts of passion, but Sophie's character is explored so that I know why she did what she did, but I guess Ray's killing of a random, incompetent worker could be indicative of rage issues, I just don't know enough about his character from this scene to judge that's what it is. You could write plenty before or after this to provide more context though, this seemed focused on Sophie, so you could focus on Ray a bit more.

Good job overall, I think.

Almost met Patton himself? Cool. And it's good you do that for him.

It is a great song and I'm defnitely impressed by live orchestration. Didn't even hear the baby, though that might be because I also have the TV running in the background.

The 80's Generation of Gamers Will Be The Best In The History Books

I agree with the idea that instant gratification and general internet douchebaggery are downfalls of the current generation of ... frankly, people, it just happens to apply to games and online communities in an obvious way, but I think these games too will become nostalgic and increase in value, despite their losses now.

After all, when NES games got old at first, unless they were rare, they were sold at garage sales for very little, especially compared to what you might be able to get for certain titles now; and leeradical42 is fond of pointing out the appreciation in value of a lot of PS2 games, and those have been around for far less time.

I will agree again though, that 8 and 16 bit are a very golden time for gaming, and they are awesome. And yes, physical copies are much better than something that can be deleted off a server.

Great post, sometimes it's nice to just read a good bit of interesting text.

I don't know if "occassionally playing old systems" qualifies as "serious gamer," so I am here as a regular of this website to let you know there is in fact an in between. lol Granted, I was pretty damn serious about being a Gamecube fanboy, so maybe I just peaked early in middle school.

Cool to see what you look like, interesting you are Daftman's brother, and nice cosplay. Also, 1990 is a great year. Cool
