I can't wait to re-play the first one, totally skip the second one, and actually beat the first boss on the third one. That game was TOUGH.

I'm going to be talking about it on this week's PixlTalk. Dragon Age 2 is one of my top five games of 2011, but it's also my most disappointing game of 2011. I'll explain this strange dichotomy on my first episode hosting the Crew #2 show.
Just glad that the Final Fantasy XI and XIV information wasn't affected. I already had to get a new debit card after that PSN debacle.
I know CES is almost a non-issue at this point for the industry, but if Nintendo plans on having a booth there, they should have something new to show. I'd rather they just skip CES entirely and perhaps show something new at GDC, or perhaps have a special Space World type of event.
When they announced the Fox Engine, it was said to be a cross platform engine for PC, 360, and PS3. But yeah, this stuff looks pretty next gen, just like that Unreal Engine "3" Samaritan demo. With the way Kojipro makes games, whatever this is would likely not make it out this generation, anyway.
I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens. Thanks for the heads up.
@Michael117 Your idea comes close to mine. I didn't get to go into it in the podcast, as we were all very excited to talk about Resident Evil, but here goes. My RE game would eliminate all the weird and nonsensical puzzles that the series is known for. I know that there's a reason in the canon for why the Spencer mansion had all the weird lock mechanisms and puzzles to reach important items, but that reason has never worked outside of the first game. So, no more weird keys, block pushing, or crank turning.
Instead, the environment as a whole is your puzzle. You're one person surrounded by the undead. How do you get from point A to point B? The key is traversal; finding places to climb above the zombies, destroying parts of the environment to make walkways or block the enemies from getting to you. I'd want a little bit of stealth in there, as well. Maybe if you're quiet and stay out of sight you can sneak past the zombies, but if you're wounded and bleeding, it's like chum in the water, and they will flock to you. I'd include a strong melee element to the game, because I would make ammo precious. You may be out of shotgun shells, but that shotgun would make a pretty good zombie bat in a pinch, don't you think?
I...I want this.
Wait..what? I hate Pokemon.
But...I want this.
Does not compute! Must lay down!
@darth That's so odd. I feel like the battle for GOTY at most sites is between Skyrim and Portal 2, with Zelda being firmly in the mix. Maybe the people laughing don't remember the early part of the year very well.
I loved Alan Wake. It was one of my absolute favorite games of 2010, and this news makes me sad. I don't want more action from Alan Wake, I want less. A lot less. Like, 80% less.
