How to Combat Stagnation in Long Running Series

I know that there are plenty of games in the indie space that claim to fit what I am looking for, but they don't have the same feel.  I am hopeful for Bloodstained because IGA is working on it, but I have to be cautiously optimistic for the others...  even though they look rad.

I just really want a new 2D Castlevania.  It's been way too long since Order of Ecclesia.

Chrono Crossing - I cannot seem to find a single game that I care about that was released in the US in 1986.

Stage Select -  I've got nothing, this question is way too out there for me to even spend time dwelling upon.

The Mummy: Demastered Review

One of the things that bugged me dawned on me yesterday.  I am about 3/4ers of the way through the game and I feel just as helpless as I did at the beginning of the game.  Yes, I have collected upgrades, but they don't really make me feel powerful.  In Super Metroid, at this point in the game, you feel like a complete badass.

i am gameplay all the way.  story is good and all, but give me something that feels good to play and i am happy.

that is what i miss most about the older generations.  you had enough limitations that you had to focus in good gameplay.

In some ways I wonder how they are able to make any money period.  Development costs have risen, yet the price of a game has stayed the same.
Maybe they should start to think about raising the base price of a game...  or at least thinking about tiering out genres maybe.  Games as services could easily start at a higher intial price point.

It's also like how just prior to the PS4 and Xbox One launch, it was all  "CONSOLE GAMING IS DEAD."   Then the PS4 went on the sell gangbusters and console gaming is not dead.

I think that WayForward is similar to Platinum.  They do fantastic work on the stuff they own, but in order to make those games they do licensed stuff that is not up to snuff.

I was probably half-asleep while I was listening to last weeks Beastcast...  unless they talked about it this week.  Ever since I went into the hospital last week all my days have been a blur.

Don't forget about the Bethesda published games, Evil Within, Wolfenstein, Prey, Death of the Outsider....  all single player focused.

Episode 121: This One Gets a Bit (Digital) and Dicey

This episode was a blast to listen to...  Those Digital and Dice guys add a fantastic dynamic.

I only have one thought at the moment for Stage Select.  SA-X from Metroid Fusion still terrifies me...  Actually, any of those unkillable characters that stalk the protaganist of a game.

Chrono Crossing -     I am going to go with Castlevania.  I don't have anything to say at the moment.
