I loved reading this blog. It's always the ones with a personal touch that I leave thinking about, and I'm sure I'll be thinking about this blog for days. I enjoy reading about how people became gamers. With Final Fantasy especially, it seems that there is always a cherished history, a precious first experience. Same with me. Final Fantasy probably changed my life. I don't even know what person I would be had I never been introduced to it. It's actually safe to say that I wouldn't have gotten this deep into gaming without it's influence. Probably sounds like an exaggeration, but there was something intriguing about it, so alluring that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to learn more. And here I am today.
Thanks for sharing :)
Happy birthday!
I loved that Carmen San Diego game when I was a kid. I played the updated 1996 version though. Only thing is I was really young so I didn't know much about geography so if a citizen said something about Holland, I would literally have to travel to numerous places to find Holland because I didn't actually know where Holland was haha. But that version had the digisketch feature where you could come up with a basic sketch of the suspect. It was great. Now I kinda wanna go find it.
Agreed. The only thing is...Tidus's new face looks a little uh..off. It's chubbier in all the wrong places. I noticed Wakka's a little skinnier too, not that that's a bad thing. Lulu looks the best in my opinion. You can really see the detail of her hair and dress in this version. Overall the whole thing looks a lot more refined. No more jagged edges at least.
I STILL haven't gotten around to purchasing a Vita. Clearly this is a message from the gods telling me to go ahead and do it.
There's another rumor floating around the internet that the Final Fantasy title being shown at E3 might end up being Versus XIII, but it's being rebranded as XV. Oh well, we'll just have to see how it turns out.
I see what you're saying, but I still think he's useless. Sure, exploring the idea of a more "relateable" character can be interesting, but only if it's properly explored. I know I would be just as boring as Vaan if I were in his situation, but I could still be interesting if given the chance to have any relevance whatsoever in the events of the story. Maybe if they explored the theme of him being "regular" and emotions that come along with that in such a grand adventure, I would've felt something for the guy. But being "regular" quickly translates into boredom and irrelevance when I realize that character has paper thin motivations and not a plot point to stand on.
Yeah I heard that too. I haven't seen any of the Tomb Raider movies though. Oh well.
You're right. Final Fantasy XII's development was.....problematic, to say the least.
Why thank you! Writing this actually makes me want to replay it. But, this game is so massive and time consuming, I'm not sure if I can make this commitment again yet. I'm ashamed to admit I haven't played Tactics yet, but I've obviously heard great things about it. I might pick up the PSP version soon.
