My first Pixlbit blog!

Hi!  I play a lot of different types of games with a slight lean towards Japanese games.  To give you an idea, I'm currently playing Diablo on PS4, and I can't wait to play Bayonetta 2.  Some of my favorite series are Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Street Fighter.  I've been around awhile (read:old lol), so I grew up playing Castlevania, Mario, etc.

Thanks.  I'm still going to visit those other sites, but I need a little balance.  I don't mind healthy debate, and there is a lot of that going on elsewhere, but sometimes it feels like the staffs and moderators of those sites have a singular voice (I don't want to cry agenda because I've grown to respect a lot of those writers and still want to give them the benefit of the doubt), and I see people who offer a counter argument often met with dismissal or worse.  With the community providing much of the content on here, I don't think that would be a problem.

Hey Matt!  I remember you from 1up (Sneenlantern was it?)  That's cool that you became a staff member.  Looking forward to reading your reviews and talking crap about them in the comments sections j/k lol.

Hi Ben,

It's Jesse (jelliSHOT from 1up).  I finally created an account (I avoided it because I thought I would spend too much time on here, but frankly I spend just as much time on other gaming websites), and I kind of just wanted to get away from all the negativity and wars of words that seem to pervade the comment sections of every article/review I read.  I enjoy reading blogs because it reminds me that gamers are individuals and most aren't like the vocal minority a-holes waging war on message boards and twitter.  Reading your blogs on Gamergate has kind of enlightened me a little bit about it and given me a personal connection to it.  I've read your posts for a while and agree with a lot of your viewpoints on journalism and art, and have seen some of the abuse you've taken for just being outspoken and opinionated.  I don't think I will ever identify with one side over another, because each has some validity to their arguments, but rather than learning from each other or respectfully agreeing to disagree, it devolves into a pissing contest.  Plus, I don't like labels, especially when idiots who identify themselves with those labels harass and threaten to commit acts of violence against others who have a difference of opinion.  Over games.  Anyway, I came over here to get away from that and now I'm talking about it.  At least you guys are more rational.

Glad to see you're still drawing.  Never let anybody tell you what you should and shouldn't be drawing.  Do what you want for yourself, whether you want to make a statement, illicit a reaction, or just because you like the subject matter.  Unless you're getting paid.  Then do what your client wants lol.

Holy crap that's a bear lol!

Hello Tami, this is Jesse (formerly jelliSHOT from 1up).  I lurk on Pixlbit every now and again, but I didn't create an account after 1up shuttered, because life and different priorities.  I have been frequenting other gaming news sites becaues I love and will always love the hobby, but frankly there's so much negativity these days.  I decided to come back here because through your (1up bloggers collectively) blogs, I got to know a little bit about you guys as individuals.  There is so much generalization and labeling going on right now in the vocal gaming community I needed to get a different perspective.  I don't really mean to go so far off your topic and bring that baggage here lol, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's enjoyable reading about your experiences and seeing your photos.  They are a refreshing break from what has become a war (over things that were created to help us relax and have fun).  Anyway, glad to see you're still blogging.  You're the first person I recognized because you're on the front page, and hopefully I can reconnect with some others on here and meet some new peeps.
