I always called KOTOR the best Starwars movie never made. lol. This was the game that really got me interested in Bioware again. I aso believe without KOTOR we would have never gotten Mass Effect.

I'm with ya. I started watching anime when Ninja Scroll,Inuyasha,Akira,Ghost In The Shell,Armitage the 3rd, and Dragonball were HUGE but at that point it still was "underground". Aka, only the most obsessive nerds like us knew about it. lol.
I do find much of mainstream anime & mainstream Japanese video-games are geared towards "young teens" and that's probably Japan's Achille's heel. If they could just accept it's okay to be "adult gamers" maybe they would make more Jrpgs with mature themes. (Similar to games by Bioware or Bethesda)
That's why I got into Atlus so hardcore during the PS2 cycle. It seemed to be the only Japanese rpg developer making games with darker and more sophisticated themes. The first two Shadowhearts games were good at that as well.
Square also used to take risks but they aren't the same company today as they were when they were pumping out games like Parasite Eve and Xenogears.
I understand the crappy pc situation,Chris. I've been there. lol. Anyway, wishing you a better pc soon!
Don't know if I'd like this one or not. On one hand, I can still enjoy Jrpgs. For example, I'm really digging Y's chronicles right now. I'm getting pretty deadly at the bump system and though the stories in Y's 1 and Y's 2 are simple, they're also well told!
However, there are some Jrpgs I haven't gotten into as much due to some ridiculous cliches. Yet I feel bad even calling them cliches on account there are plenty of cliches in western themed rpgs too. (Aka, the badass space commander, hardened space marine, Dragon-born escaped convict, and the devil may care sell sword who can change fate with his moral choices!)
Aka, I really do not see the west as superior when it comes to easing off the stereotypes.
Thanks,Matt. You are awesome!
It is a good reason. Cry Of Fear is hard in places though. I think I migght have to start from the beginning to do better. I saved at an area where I have low health and there's not a single healing syringe in sight! I'm also being pursued by creepy ghost women who can make me commit suicide if I'm holding a gun. You have to take them out quickly or press the trigger button really fast.
The HalfLife 1 engine is pretty dated. You might get it to work,Joe. As for "i-phones" I'm no expert. lol. I just saw a flashy device with lotsa buttons and made an assumption.
Keep the B's coming Adam. lol. I guarantee this one will creep you out. Besides, it's free. No risk taking involved, sir!
It's so true, man. Most AAA "horror games" can't scare me anymore. Cry Of Fear made me jump within 5 minutes.
Evil Within might be decent too though. For the record, it's coming out on consoles!
I knew about some of this already so I can't feign being surprised. I likewise consider Snowden a hero for risking his life just so we could know the truth on several issues effecting us directly. If anyone was wondering why I've been so piss & vinegar at microsoft lately, this is a damned good example!
