Nintendo Denies The Binding of Isaac a 3DS Release

Posted on 02/29/2012 at 11:43 PM | Filed Under News

The issue here is that if there's no guarantee the game would be licensed/published, spending the money on an ESRB rating is a massive risk. Imagine the game picks up an M rating, but NIntendo still denies the game on the 3DS. That's likely at least thousands of dollars down the drain that they won't get back, since each platform has content rated independantly, I believe.

Game Freak Reveals Pokemon Black and White 2

I'd be more inclined to think it's just because Pokemon is a big hit across demographics, and the DS has more people who own it. That's my guess. I don't think Nintendo views Pokemon as a system seller, or maybe they don't see a game that isn't part of a new "generation" as one. Maybe?

Game Freak Reveals Pokemon Black and White 2

I've been looking around since we got wind of this story, since so little information seems to be available right now. Shocking points? The release confirmation for North America that's simultaneous with the Japanese game announcement. Also, the site Nick linked up there with the word "confirmed"? It says "Coming Soon." I'd guess that means at least by year's end, if not even sooner. Nifty stuff.

Now then, that logo floating up there shows a sapphiric-color blue and a ruby-colored red as part of the new game logos. The next Pokemon movie poster also reflects those colors. Here's the question: Are these colors related to Hoenn and Ruby and Sapphire? Alternatively, they could just reflect the color of Reshiram and Zekrom's own elements, with red fire and a blue-colored lightning.  Most speculation is guessing Hoenn will be featured in the game, to give it a grander scale, especially since Hoenn is the only region not currently explorable on a Nintendo DS. With so many rumors out there, you can see why I ddn't want to report this story; I couldn't separate fact from fiction!

Seaman Coming to 3DS

I'll probably pick this up just because I heard so much about it back in the day. It's definitely one of the stranger gaming ideas. It certainly was at its original release.

Rayman Origins Review

"The only portion of the Vita port that has changed is an omission of multiplayer. The 2011 release included 4-player local multiplayer, but this was easily the weakest aspect of the game. Levels were clearly designed as a single player experience and the co-op gameplay felt tacked on. There was no extra incentive to play with friends and the extra people on screen equated to more frustration and difficulty. With that said, leaving multiplayer out of the Vita port does not hurt the experience at all."

^^^^Sadly, that's absolutely true. Too bad. Still, yeah, it's incredible to say removing multiplayer might actually strengthen the game. The idea is certainly true, though.

I demanded this from Nick years ago. We had a conversation about how the whole idea was about a million times more complicated than I thought it was. Somehow Nick pulled it off, though, which I'm glad to see. Great!

I liked it! I got over the terrible presentation and the flat graphics. When it came down to it, it felt like cars were going fast. The best thing? Forcing a competing car to crash into general traffic and watching them fly in the air. I have to agree about the music, though.

Also? Police Car + Brake + Brake + Gas = ???

First Impressions: Crystal Chronicles

I actually managed to get through the game in Co-op. Partway through, my current roommate and I figured out how to time a spell to make it an -aga spell, which hits everything on the screen, and we found a lot of success there. If I can recommend a version of Final Fantasy VI, I would have to say the Game Boy Advance version. The SNES version was just fine, but had a few glitches that made some characters much more valuable than others. I believe the PSX version worked just fine, but I'm sure it has lengthy loading times. The GBA version fixes the glitches and adds in two great post-game dungeons, and that's why I recommend it.

First Impressions: Crystal Chronicles

I played a lot of Crystal Chronicles when it came out. I'm very disappointed that we haven't seen a true sequel since then. The second DS (also available on the Wii) game made a fun diversion, but it wasn't as good as the original, and the Wii game just wasn't enjoyable to play at all.

Here's a hint: The main color you paint your moogle has an effect on how he behaves, as does his fur length. Also, Moogles played a significant role in at least Final Fantasy VI.

Hey everyone, I wanted to give a heads up: I'm feeling a little under the weather today, so PB & Jason won't be happening this week. If it weren't a sore throat, I'd still be doing it! Tune in next week, I'll be providing listeners with a Vita launch special! Exciting!
