Man, I've sen some real freaking rats in these parts. Yeah, my hooded dumbo, Astrid, is pretty big at 18 inches from nose to the end of her tail, but we've seen rats out here that were an easy two and a half feet long, and bigger than literally every cat I've seen in this city. Probably less friendly and quite formidable too! (O_O)

It's OK. I know that mice should live longer, but in the end, they're susceptable to many of the diseases we are, and we could have been carrying something that killed him, but we wouldn't have noticed. While he was with us, he was easily the most spoiled with twice the amount of toys and living space as our other mice =P

He was. We just couldn't believe how like us he was in terms of temperment and behaviour. He'll be missed, and will likely never me matched by any other mouse, ever. Especially the with the tiny hugs.

We have a giant white rate too, though she has a dark gray hood and dumbo ears. Her name is Astrid, and she measures about 18 inches from nose to tail. You want to see a friendly rat, Astrid is your example. Non-stop kisses and constant neediness; whenever we're around she drops whatever she's doing and comes to see us. That even includes eating!

Rats are really just mouse-shaped dogs. Just as affectionate, just as willing to please, able to learn thier names and tricks. It's just awesome. The only drawback: thier short lifespan... That said, I'm terribly sorry for your loss too, since I know how great those little guys truly are.

That's sad to hear. Hopefully, your cat is made as comfortable as possible. I'm sure he appreciates everything you do for him!

I was never really an animal person until I took my job at the pet store. I grew a heavey conscience when I had to start selling mice and rats as food for reptiles. When I learned how intelligent, loyal and personable they were, that's when I started getting them. Right now, we're sitting at four rats, two mice and three ferrets. In the future, I hope to maintain two of each. I went a little overboard, haha.

Normandy and Gabriel were examples of animals that defy every expectation and rule. The result was a couple of mice that were unlike anyof the animals we've ever had, even amongst our many mice and rats.

I'm gald I've got a good platform (with a good audience) for a pretty decent effort at a daily blog. I've been toying with the idea for a while,. but 1up's userbase was extremely fragmented for its last year...

Aww, thanks n_n

I'll admit I got really worried when I read the word "trap", bit it's good that these mice got to keep living their lives happily (hopefully) in a field. The deer mouse that somehow got into the pet store met an unfortunate end via a glue trap. That hurt me quite a bit. Those things are insidious >_<#
