1up Repost: Best Cities/Towns in Gaming

Midgar is still my all time favorite. But for some reason....(this is gonna sound absolutely insane), Palumpolum from Final Fantasy XIII is a highlight for me as well. I know, I know, it shouldn't actually qualify as a Final Fantasy town, but I love it's design. The underground tunnels, the huge vistas, the city shopping area, the brilliant lighting effects. The whole Palumpolum arc is my absolute favorite part of that game. It's packed with action, character development, and some cool battles. Strange choice, I know haha

I'll admit...The Last Remnant does have some really great music. Man I gotta finish that game.

Mixed Reviews: Final Fantasy XII

I found the political aspects of the story pretty intriguing, so much that I could overlook some of the underdeveloped characters. Balthier has some development, and that was all I really cared about. I will say the last stretch of the story left something to be desired. It was pretty out of left field, even a little contrived. I still don't totally understand it. Oh well.

They definitely could've dumped Vaan. Literally, if they would've just taken him out, it only would've cut out the first hour of the game, and like 3 cutscenes of the game. Talk about a waste of polygons.

Final Fantasy XIII's battle system is a little grating at times, but overall I thought it was a good idea, it just didn't come out exactly right.

As for the music...it was mostly forgettable. I can't remember more than 2 or 3 tracks off the top of my head. I guess that's better than remembering a lot of horrible ones though.

Sounds great. Although I've never been a huge fan of puzzles....

What's it like to live in the Bible Belt?

Posted on 03/09/2013 at 09:07 PM | Filed Under Blogs

South Carolina is part of the bible belt, right? Well, I'm an atheist as well and I find that if you live by a "don't ask, don't tell" policy, you'll be fine. I actually have a good bit of atheist friends, and other friends of alternative religions, (Buddhists, pandeists) so I have an outlet for discussion and the sharing of ideas at least. However, I would never, ever voice my religious standpoint to anyone over the age of 25 around here, because you just never know what type of reaction you'll get. My own mother is in permanent denial about it. So it's just the elephant in the room topic that no one ever brings up. It's not really big deal I guess, it's just easier to keep such things to yourself, which is probably the best course of action anyway. Religion will always be a touchy subject regardless of anything.

I have played it, and it's definitely worth the hype. I put up a very brief review of it.
