Fighting the Amiibo Addiction

Posted on 01/23/2015 at 02:36 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I'm not sure if I'd get into the craze myself. I'm having a hard time as it is justifying buying games! let alone statues for the games in question. As if DLC wasn't bad enough! but from a pure market standpoint it is a stroke of genius. Afterall Skylanders and Disney are doing it. It's only a matter of time when we might see pokemon take it on. Gotta catch'em all will take on a while new meaning when that happens!

I'ved decided to hold off in getting those games till I get a Vita. I had thought about getting them so I could play them on my PSP but it turnes out the sequel is no longer accessable on the PSP. Very lame given how it was a PSOne title originally. Vita is possible though so I'll leave it at that.

Zero Escape does indeed work on PS TV

This changes things. Perhaps there is more to this little box than I suspect. I may need to make room for this on one of my game rigs now.

Resident Evil HD Impressions

Posted on 01/23/2015 at 01:57 PM | Filed Under Blogs

The only issue I've had with RE HD was an odd file corruption error message that popped up telling me to re-install the game. It happened just as I got out of the house and made it to the NSEW puzzle involving the two headed dogs guarding the locked gate. The moment I tried to enter the gate I got the pop up.

I was able to make a different save point sooner to that level and all seems fine from there. Stil it would've sucked if I was trying for that "no save" trophy for the game.

Tank controls I'm starting to get use to. It helps that I played RE4 HD recently before this. I still switch back to tank controls now and then during tense moments. Still nice to see Capcom trying to update the game in sublte ways that help enhance the experaince. So far best $20 I spent for two copies of the game.

What game should I play next?

The Evil Within Reminds Me of ( snes ) Clock Tower

I guess I've gotten to use to the new variants of Resident Evil where you stand your ground a gun down the monster stalking you. I even had that problem in prior resident evil titles.

Not sure if I'd like The Evil Within. One day I'll get it a try.

A Darkstalkers Retrospective: The Nostalgic Gamer

Nice! Even if you haven't done your own you should feel honored that someone approached you to help in crafting their retrospective. it shows that they respect you as an individual who knows their games. Even if we don't think what we blog about means much in the grand scheme of things, there are those that find a use for our words. All I had was a collage student ask to use one of my blogs for his research paper.

Five Games I'm Looking Forward to in 2015

Posted on 01/20/2015 at 01:57 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I can't say much is exciting me this year. I know this should be the big year when all the consoles take off their kid gloves but for the most part it just a big meh to me.

Not even The Order 1886 is doing it for me anymore. I will probably buy Xenoblade Chronicles X though if only not to get burned on the original release back on the Wii. I also want to see about the new Nintendo 3DS version of Xenoblades for the portable aspect.

2014 Beaten & Read - Darth's List

Still alot more than what I've read/beaten. I can't even keep track with all the games I "taste" over the course of the year. The fact alone that you remember all those is something I find amazing.
