Tools of Destruction had been my initial pick for 2007.
Chrono Crossing 2006 - I wrote down Resistance: Fall of Man. I am just one of those Insomniac fanatics

Also, I disagree, but that has more to do with the fact that I only ever need 1 cup of coffee.
Don't feel bad for me and my abysmal initial memories of the PlayStation. I had a PS2 within 3 years, and I finally caught up to gaming. Before that time we were always a generation behind and it was a breath of fresh air to find games I could actually play in regular stores. I built up a pretty sizable collection of PSOne games over the years, even if a portion of them are Greatest Hits. I even have copies of Project Overkill and Disruptor, both of which I have been wanting to mess around with for the past couple months, but have not plugged in my PSOne yet.
I have played through a good portion of VI, but I cannot remember what pulled me away. I might have lost my save and then when I came back to it that Moogle sequence near the beginning of the game pissed me off the second time through.
I have bought it twice since that point, on VC and as a PSOne Classic. I may just be holding out for SquareRoots at this point... assuming they actually decide to play it.
A different thought could be that I was fairly picky with RPGs when I first started getting into them. If memory serves me correctly, I discovered RPGs with FF IV and moved right into Chrono Trigger, both are in my Top 10 games of all time. Then I tried to play VI.
There are countless, lousy excuses. I have a copy on my Vita, I plan to play it eventually. When I am in the mood.
Final Fantasy isn't really my series. I have tried nearly all of the main entries because I fell in love with IV so badly. At this point, with what little I have seen or heard I really just want to play the game. Somewhat out of a morbid curiosity, but at the same time it sounds like a game that I might actually enjoy.
I never got around to Type-O... definitely would have preferred it on Vita. Outside of that, I am not really worried about FF XV. Once they took Nomura off the project and it became XV I think that I actually sighed in relief.
I wish I had time fro Deus Ex at the moment. I loved Human Revolution. The one thing that really stuck in my mind about that game was the recall of a chip that you had upgraded earlier in the game. I remember that the game made it sound like a mandatory recall, but I didn't do it and the game kept going. If I am not mistaken getting the chip replaced caused you to glitch out during one of the boss fights.
Not replacing the chip caused you to lose your HUD, if I am not mistaken, but I still marveled at the fact that it wasn't something that I had to do eventhough the game made it seem like I had to go in for the recall....
my memory is a little fuzzy, so I could be wrong about some of the details.
Here is why I like the Vita, it is one of my favorite pieces of hardware btw. I love the selection of PSOne Classics that are available. I didn't have a PSP very long, so I missed out on a lot of that library which I now have downloaded to my Vita. I love indie games a lot, but prefer them on a handheld and I think the Vita has a better selection of indie games than the 3DS. Western Developers have essentially abandoned the Vita, but there is usually a handful of Japanese games that release each month. I also, prefer having just one screen on my handheld. Also, the Ratchet and Clank collection is on Vita.
The biggest issue with the Vita is the memory cards. I lucked out and got a 32gb one for relatively cheap... Granted I don't need to have the 60+ games I currently have installed at once.
I have vague memories of sleeping over at a friends house and since I was always an early riser, playing the Super Mario Land series while he slept.
For me, I need to play both Bioshock and 2 back to back. It just prefer it that way.
I am not this biggest FF fan, but I am looking forward to FF XV. I decided back during Bioshock Infinite's pre-release coverage to pay less attention to a game until it is out. Bioshock Infinite was very different from the first gameplay trailers to the game I actually played. So, I have been following FF XV in a very casual sense.
I am quite pleased with what Bethesda is doing, in regards to publishing, with id's catalog. The games are amazing, and I cannot wait for the New Order sequel.
