Three Cheers for the 3DS! Part 2: Physical Cartridge Games

Yeah sometimes timing is important on whether or not you play a game.

In my opinion, Bowser's Inside Story is the best of the Mario & Luigi games.  Although, when I played the remake on the 3DS, it didn't seem as good as I remember it on the DS.  But I still say ti's the best of them.  Not too bloated, and probably the closest thing we'll get to Bowser getting his own game.

Some Gaming Thoughts

I reviewed the first Guacamelee game.  it was a fun "Metroidvania" kind of game mixed with Luchador wrestling.  It was kind of hard, though, and you'd never know how to get the good ending unless you beat it first.  Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the few Xbox One games I'd like to play.

I hate it that these game companies want you to download their games, and yet they give you paultry memory space on the consoles.  This is one of the reasons why I still prefer physical.

You don't get married in Animal Crossing games, thank goodness!

I liked Partners in Time as well.  Those babies were adorable.  But it was still probably the weakest of the M&L games.

I hope I get to review River City Girls!  I get press releases about the game anyway.

Yeah consoles are way too expensive.  I mainly only get them so I can review more games.  And even then sometimes I'll wait for a sale, like I did with my PS4.

Yes I would be super happy if they would release Mega Man Legends 3 on some platform.  Heck, I'd buy an Xbox One if it was going to be on that console only.

I'm not really big into strategy RPGs so I will skip out on this one.  Although that didn't stop me from setting up a meeting with the folks making The Dark Crystal strategy RPG at PAX West coming up at the end of the month.  I'm a sucker for anything Jim Henson related.

Some of the Fire Emblem characters I've seen look pretty cool, though.  I saw one who had purple hair, and another one had red and white hair and bone goggles on her head!  Any neat characters in that new one you'd think I'd like?

8 Bit Hell - Kid Icarus

When I was a kid, I thought Greek Mythology was interesting.  It was fun to learn in school and Clash of the Titans was one of my favorite movies.  I even took a Greek Mythology course in college.  But that's when I started hating it!  You see, that stuff you learned in elementary school was HEAVILY editied.  Turns out those Greeks were a bunch of perverts and their myths were nothing but bloated soap operas.

But I digress.  Back as a kid I thought Greek Mythology was cool so Kid Icarus seemed interesting to me.  So I rented it one time because of that and Nintendo Power said it was cool (so you know it had to be true).  Oh man, I HATED that game.  It was way too hard, goals were arbitrary, and the controls sucked.  I don't understand why people praise this game so much.

Years later I decided to give Kid Icarus: Uprising a chance on the 3DS.  I didn't like that game either, even though a lot of others did.  I thought the controls sucked on it, too.  So yeah, Kid Icarus is one of the few Nintendo licenses I flat out don't like.

I think Pit is going up so he can escape the Underworld.  That's how I understood it anyway.

Doh! - The Simpsons Hit and Run

Simpsons Road Rage is just like Crazy Taxi.  So much so that SEGA sued, but I think they settled it out of court.  But even if it was a ripoff, it was fun and I liked it.
