Writing and Gaming Update

Posted on 09/05/2017 at 07:31 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Awesome Snee! I've enjoyed the two chapters of the Night Shepherd I read, and can't wait to read more!

Have you played much of the series? If not, try the games on PS4 or Steam. They're some of the best, and well worth a try.

LIfe is Strange, and so is tabletop gaming

Man, I had the choice of buying either it or Jak and Daxter today. I chose Jak and Daxter. Hopefully I'll get to play this soon, as apart from episode 5, the first season is in my top 50 games of all time.

Also, your title got my hopes up. I thought you yourself had gotten into tabletop gaming. I am dissapoint.

Oh I am. Right now. I read some of your story btw. YA isn't my traditional genre, but I love the feeling of your worlds. There's an inherent whimsy that just shines through and makes me smile whenever I read something from you.

Dark Tower is another inspiration of mine. There is a ton of magic in that world, it just takes a little while to get to it. It can be difficult to get into, but it's well worth a read. Avoid the movie at all costs though.

Unfortunately, I can't even post a paragraph. We have an app we have to use before submitting which scans the net for phrases and lines, and even if it only ended up being a small snippet it'd still show up. If you want to read it though, send me your email address and I'll gladly send you a copy.

Yeah... it's not too much is it?

What makes Prey special? I'm not asking in a way that I'm trying to be mean, I'm just trying to work out what sets it apart from other games in the genre, like Dishonored or Deus Ex. Is it about the choices it offers?

Steam games pretty much....

I haven't played Panzer Corp because World War 2 just isn't my jam for strategy for some reason. Love WW2 shooters and the World of Tanks and Warships games, but in strategy I just prefer a Total War or Crusader Kings in terms of setting.

That said, I did play Warhammer 40k: Armageddon, which apparently has a lot of the same mechanics (they even have the same artstyle and dev team as Panzer Corps) and I fucking loved it, so maybe I should give this a go.

But yeah, I used to have a 20gb internet plan with very low speeds, so I feel for you man. The worst thing is you can't even buy physical discs because half of them still come with 8-16gb mandatory downloads. Hope you get the net soon man.

Congratz on the switch. I haven't taken the plunge myself yet, but probably will around Christmas when the new Mario launches.

I've still barely played Prey... god I need to make some time for that game!

Firstly, never feel bad for not being able to post, reply to comments, or even get around to reading any of our blogs. God knows I've been awful at it, and when you're stressed out sometimes the last thing you want to do is put the effort into talking to people. We all understand, so never feel bad about that.

It's awesome that you finished Suikoden II. It's on my Vita but I've only played the first little bit so far because I'm currently playing World of Final Fantasy on it. Seems like a great game, I love the political and moral ambiguity, and I love the idea of collecting character pokemon style.

Enjoy Metro 2033 Redux. It's one of the rare games I gave a 10/10 to when I was reviewing games at plus10damage, and is honestly one of my all time favourite FPS games. If you enjoy it and haven't played Stalker, give the lost alpha mod a download. It's a full free version of the game with a lot of changes, some much better, some much worse, but it will give you an idea of what that series is like.

I unfortunately could very much be a groomzilla, which is partly why I'll probably never get married haha. It sucks you have to deal with one though, but also somewhat cool to see a gender reversal there!

Unfortunately my partner and I were in a similar situation to you not so long ago. She ended up needing to leave home for reasons I won't specify, but soon after she moved in with me I had to leave my apartment and move back in with my grandparents and two brothers. As a couple, it is vitally important to have some space of your own, no matter how awesome the people surrounding you can be, and moving out will hopefully be a much needed relief for the two of you.

Anyway, great hearing from you again, we hope to see more of you soon. As Knightdriver said, please let us know if you're streaming, I'd love to tune in.
