That story really creeped me out because the narrator knew what he was doing. He wasn't drunk or stricken with grief or whatever. He was in his right mind and still walled that guy up *shiver*
It's pretty darn cool as an adult
That A.R.E.S. game sounds pretty cool. It's been way too long since I've played a good Contra-ish game.
Huh. I always thought Oblivion was ugly lol. I just can't seem to get excited for graphics anymore but hey, I was happy with the GameCube
Hmm, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. It would make an excellent addition to your list. The music definitely deserves attention though
My wife came across it on Tumblr, though I think it was big on reddit too. And your wording isn't so good but I love the idea. Let me give it a try.
"I often talked aloud to my dark room after going to bed because it was fun thinking that something in that darkness could hear me, and so one night I asked the darkness how it was doing. A dry rasping voice answered me, saying it was hungry, so very hungry, and I haven't turned off the light in my room since."
This episode left a sour taste in my mouth too. Cardin is the worst sort of human being and I hate stories where the character just takes it. Jaune should have punched him in the nuts and then stomped his ankles...or at least that's what I wanted him to do. I hope Jaune learns to stand up for himself quickly (and learn to accept help offered by friends) because I certainly don't want to see this blackmail subplot drag out. Cardin is a jerk but he seems like a throwaway secondary character.
When this game came out, everybody said it was terrible. I don't think I heard a single good thing. So I'm intrigued by your write up here. I do love Castlevania and would probably enjoy this as simple fan service if nothing else. And $5? Most any game is worth the risk at that price. I'll keep on the lookout for it.
Mobile gaming is so different from traditional handheld gaming, mainly due to controls and pay models, that I'm not sure it could ever really supplant it. Some games certainly try, though, and can be quite good in their own way. Case in point.
