What's funny is that I have the Genesis version of this game and I was going to do a review of it but then it turned into why even bother with this version when there are better ones and that turned into me not even writing it because I figured no one would care about the game, let alone an article telling you not to care about the game. Yet here we are.
Wow. Great review but really disappointed by the outcome. I didn't expect this to be an amazing game since this is the third in three years but I suppose Ubisoft has truly run this series into the ground.

Totally have to play this. This game has Chaos and Mecha Sonic, even though they call him Metal Sonic.

Also, the PS3 slims do have PlayStation one backwards compatibility. I haven't heard of any serious complaints so I don't see a problem with purchasing either the discs or these downloads. Although previous Square PSone games have retailed for $10. So this way might be cheaper.
