Random update 3-3-14

It's been pretty warm this week in Colorado, sunny and mild. I'm really happy I didn't have to chisel and scrape ice off the car windows this morning. I love looking at winter but actually being in it is never fun. I tend to stop playing guitar during the winter because my hands feel stiff and slow because of the cold, basically for the whole season. I get back into it during spring and certainly summer though so I have that to look forward to. At the very least I'm glad that I still have the dexterity in my hands during winter to play games.

I appreciate that you do these Nicole. You can blog about whatever you want, I've used my blog to talk about personal stuff many times to good effect, I like the people around here so it's always been easier to do in this community. Games are the catalyst that binds us all together and brought us here, but there's plenty of room to talk about more than games and especially if it's personal and important to you to express.

Vic's Favorite Underrated/Underappreciated Games

Cool list Vic, I relate with your thoughts on War in the North. Snowblind's action rpgs on PS2 are what got me into RPGs after I had spent years avoiding them because of a bad exerience on NES. I loved both of the Champions of Norrath and BG: Dark Alliance series. When I heard War in the North was coming I kept up with it and then grabbed it at launch. It wasn't a great game but it was still very satisfying for me, especially the combat. My favorite characters were the great eagles by far. I still go back to War in the North every now and then, I'll never sell it.

BaD, not so bad.

Thank you for the encouragment Travis Smile

What are the top three issues you have with your game at the moment? What kind of idea are you kicking around for your next project?

I like the mechanic you used Travis, neat Flappy Jam idea. It's interesting you're able to do something like this in Unity, its reputation for flexibility precedes it. In the game programming degree I'm planning to sign up for this year at university, they use the Unity engine a lot so I'd be getting a lot of experience with it I'd assume.

Having your support is definitely worth a lot to me, Tami. You've always supported this dream and I haven't forgotten.

There's definitely a more relaxed character to the professors I've talked to. Luckily the admissions reps have been very honest and practical, but they also have had a much more energetic approach. Whereas the professors have been much more casual and relaxed in their honesty.
