I was sad I wasn't able to get a NES Classic Edition, but not too sad because most of my personal NES favorites were not on there. I liked Capcom's Disney games like DuckTales and Rescue Rangers, and also their Mega Man series. I think I liked Mega Man more than Mario. I also liked the Adventures of Lolo games (I liked HAL before they were cool), and Capcom's Little Nemo: The Dream Master.
I just got Lost Sphear and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on PS4 but I haven't played them yet. Other PS4 games I'm looking forward to include Secret of Mana, Dragon's Crown Pro, and Soul Calibur 6.
Between the summer of middle school and high school, I went to a band camp where we stayed in college dorms while the students were out. In the dorm lobby there were arcade games. Track & Field, Black Tiger, and some generic shooter. I learned all the secrets of Track & Field that week, and also played a lot of Black Tiger. It is cheap, but I enjoyed it anyway. There is a PC Engine game called Son Son 2 that basically plays like Black Tiger.
How could Ookla pull a joystick out of an arcade machine that used a trackball? :)
Centipede was always my dad's favorite classic arcade game. When we would go to arcades as a family, my mom would go to the Frogger machine, I would of course, go to Pac-Man, but my dad would make a beeline for Centipede.
Centipede has gotten quite a few updates over the years. I think the first arcade sequel i ever saw for anything was Millipede. I played a Centipede update on the PSOne that almost got a cartoon based on it, and the most recent Centipede update was on the Wii U and WayForward made it!
I can't get that 'shoot all the mushrooms' achievement either.
So Orchid is Killer Instinct and Jade is Mortal Kombat, right? I could've gotten them wrong myself.
I rented Mega Man Soccer once. I WANTED to like it, but I just couldn't.
Well if you count Street Figher X Tekken, my favorite character would be Pac-Man, since he's playable in that. :) I also like the kangaroo, panda, bear, and dinosaur (Gon). I do like Nina as well, because in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Wii U, you could dress them up like NIntendo characters and Nina wore Zelda's dress and it looked like Zelda ate her spinach! Yeah I'm easily amused.
That reminds me of when I got No More Heroes and its sequel and only played the mini-games. Brother Jeff played the main parts. :)
I rented Mega Man 7. It's good, but pales in comparison to the first Mega Man X game. It had a lot of good ideas, though.
Yoshi's Island is such a special game to me. I have many good memories playing it with my little brothers and college friends.
All right, now let's see if you can guess my favorite Tekken character?
I read somewhere that Time Crisis has ties to Rolling Thunder. I wonder if that's true?
I owned DKC, but rented DKC2. Both were great plaformers with awesome music and graphics.
What Miyamoto said about DKC COULD be a rumor. Or it could be Nintendo doing damage control to keep bad PR away from their golden boy. Either way, we'll never know.
The only thing I used the VMU screen for on the Dreamcast was the Chao mini game in Sonic Adventure. But it wasn't very fun. You know the VMU was a direct response to Sony's PocketStation. I wish we got that in the US. Would've made getting all those cars in Ridge Racer Type 4 so much easier!
