That looks like a lot of fun!
That looks like a lot of fun!
Speaking of ballsy statements, I may make another one when I do my Game of the Year blog this year.
And there's a lot more than that, too. I just singled out the ones I like the best and are the most familar with.
Yeah the best dodge ball games I've played are Super Dodge Ball on the NES, Super Dodge Ball Advance on the GBA, Super Dodge Ball Brawlers on the DS, and Downtown Street Ddogeball on Xbox LIVE. There was a Super Dodge Ball game on NEO GEO that was also good, but you had to pull off fighting game motions on the controllers to do the special moves, and I wasn't as good at it because of that.
This is why when I have a choice, I will always pick physical over digital when I can.
Nintendo just can't win. If they keep things the same, people complain about it. But when they try something new, people still complain about it. Most recent example I can think of is Breath of the Wild. They did a lot of new things with it, and people complained that it wasn't like a true Zelda game (heck, even I griped about it to some extent). But I did spend 60 hours on it and beat the game, so I still must've enjoyed it somehow.
This is why I don't complain about every Pokemon game being the same. While I may be tired of the formula myself, for every new generation of Pokemon games is a new generation of kids to enjoy them, and it's all new to them. Usually if I do complain about a game bieng too similar to something else, I'll add that 'if you like such and such, you'll like this, too' or something like that.
As far as gaming communities go, I even have trouble fitting into a lot of those. I don't know if it's because my tastes in games is too weird or I'm getting too old or what. Even at shows like PAX, I'm starting to stick out like a sore thumb because I'm one of the oldest people there. It just feels kinda weird.
Yeah I think I have that one, too. It's not done by the same people, though, so I don't think it's that good.
That's the great thing about River City Rumble is that it's not frustrating at all. And it makes references to other games like Renegade and Double Dragon! And it has a Dodge Ball mode, which is why I bought it (unforunately it's based on the third mode free-for-all in Super Dodge Ball which was kind of not good. Speaking of which, have you ever played Super Dodge Ball? I love that one!
I have no idea if my TV has any USB ports. But I did get a plug with my SNES Classic so I just use that.
I never got into Tecmo Bowl, or any football game, realy.
I'm REALLY enjoying my SNES Classic, too. I may break the rules this year and give it my Game of the Year Award. Maybe. Hope nobody objects too much to that. :)
Yeah Ninja Gaiden is hard. I know my friend and I rented it a few times as kids, but I don' tthink we ever beat it.
I like River City Ransom, too. I just don't like the clunky menus of the NES and GBA versions. That's why I really enjoyed River City Rumble, as they fixed all that. Have you ever played Super Dodge Ball? That's my favorite game in the same series.
