That's true. It sounds like you should look for one of the launch versions of the PS3 so that trade would work if you have a PS3 slim lying around.

I think I would keep this in mind the next time I'm looking for a controller for the d-pad.

On the PS3 issue, here's a more thought out solution than what I said on twitter. There are two main deciding factors I've found when I was picking a PS3 to buy: hard drive space and backwards compatibility. The hard drive space is needed for the installs a lot of the games need as well as DLC and game purchases. Also if you get PlayStation Plus, you'll have a lot of games on your hard drive as they give out full games often. The other is backwards compatibility, which is convenient if you have a big library of PS1 and PS2 titles.

My logic is the hard drive space is more important because you need to do what's best for PS3 games, as that's the main thing you're buying the system for. However, the hard drive can also be replaced with a bigger one in all the models of the PS3. On the other hand, that would require more money to be spent. Most people don't have the money to blow so they usually need to choose between hard drive and backwards compatibility. With the BC not being perfect, the model with the bigger hard drive is the way to go but if you have the money to get a bigger hard drive and your comfortable with spending that or if you have one already, I would go with the older model PS3 with full PS2 backwards compatibility. Even if it isn't perfect, it does work well enough for the most part and you'll get the bigger hard drive as well. It's a win-win if you have the money.

Quick side note: The PS3 uses a laptop hard drive, not a standard one. An external hard drive won't work as a primary drive either. I hope this helps you make a decision.

I'm more excited than ever to get this game now! With all the delays being announced recently including my much desired Tomb Raider reboot, this is my game of the year to watch now.

I've heard that too but I won't believe it until I actually have it in my hands. Even if it's light, the thing is just so cumbersome looking. It's like having someone tell you that the roof isn't leaking but you look up at the ceiling and you clearly see a water stain.

Again, all speculation until E3 and when the console launches.

The changes seen here seem minor, though welcome. I also share Jesse's disappointment in seeing the Wii U logo. I already see this controller as another uncomfortable peripheral from Nintendo that developers are going to have to overcome. Still, having never touched the controller, there's still some unlikely chance that the controller is actually comfortable.

I went back and forth with this game. When it was announced, I thought it was dumb. Then it grew on me. Then I saw gameplay of it and became indifferent. Finally, I tried the trial and I was bored almost instantaneously.

That's what I'm saying!

I was looking forward to Tomb Raider. Oh well. Better late than never.

Waiting for DKCR and Brawl to drop in price has paid off!
